We are really starting to run out of ideas. But onward must we march. I'm guessing this sound is played at the moment a certain summoned creature is un-summoned. That's my guess, some kind of summon.

I like the Beast idea of antema, fits well with the new video.

It's actually common in most religions and mythologies for the image of God to be represented in a form comprehensible to the common man. Moses and the burning bush, is one well known example.

Personally I think the ??? should be named something. He could answer the "who are you?" question by saying: "I am He who is without sin" "I am that which has no name" "I am He who has no name" "I am that which you wish to understand."

And from that sentence a name would be given to the NPC "He who is without sin", "Nameless", "The Nameless." All these would work fine.

Of course this is just my personal opinion.

Now that's intresting. Perhaps Plan B could be extended to provide two different paths towards becoming a water mage.

The first path is Vic7im's original Plan B, becoming a Water Mage by first becoming a Novice of Water.

The second would be Gothic 1's path. You first become a Fire Mage, through vanilla Gothic 2 quest line. After defeating Raven you would be given a chance to extend your vow to become a Magician of Water, as well as a Magician of Fire. Just like in Gothic 1.

Keep in mind that in Gothic 1 you didn't actually change from Fire to Water Mage, you were both at the same time. Through this path you could avoid the inconsistencies in NPC reactions, as you would be a Water, and a Fire Mage.

The difference between this path and a pure Fire Mage could be that you would remain an ordinary Fire Mage, and advance to the rank of Archmage as a Water Mage, and get the Archmage robe of Water. And learn the 6th circle from Saturas instead of Pyrokar.

Of course we could continue extending this Gothic 1 path and provide a Necromancer path. After repairing the Eye of Innos you could, depending on your choices, become an Archmage of Fire or Water, or become a Necromancer and learn the 6th circle from Xardas, and get the Necromancer robe.

All these paths would have you working for the monastery of Innos and, while an alliance with a Water Mage is no problem for the monastery, the path of the Necromancer would have to be kept hidden from the monastery. And that's not the only problem for adding a Necromancer path.

It would be cool to have 3 different mage paths, especially if you learn the 6th circle from different masters, and if your access to 6th circle spells would be limited to your chosen path.

The lack of trust Saturas holds over the player is indeed a real obstacle to having him make the Nameless a Water Mage before that trust is earned. I hadn't thought about that. He trusted the Nameless enough to teach him the circles of magic if he was a Fire Mage, but teaching someone magic and making someone a mage of your own faction, are two very different things.

I've always loved the idea of a Novice of water, and having Vatras give you that honor makes sense, he has a lot more positive view about the Nameless.

With the first 2 circles of magic and the mage guild activated, playing trough Jharkendar should be a lot appealing. Plan B is the way to go.

That actually makes sense. Playing through the expansion as a guildless character on path to becoming a Water Mage is probably an unappealing alternative to playing through the expansion as a normal Fire Mage.

Of course you can't become a Water Mage too early, as that would not make sense in-universe. I think IPIetya's suggestion makes sense. You should be allowed to become a Water Mage after completing everything on Khorinis before moving to Jharkendar. That would make sense gameplay, and story wise.

EDIT: I'm assuming that using the hex edit to hack the resolution to a higher 4:3 resolution, like 1600x1200, would still work?

Thanks for a quick reply. To answer your question, yes. The monitors change of aspect ratio stretches/compresses everything, the same way you can change your tv's aspect ratio. My monitor is actually a tv/monitor hybrid.

You know, as I was writing this reply I realized that I had asked a question without knowing the premise. So my new question is this: Are we still limited to the old resolutions of the original game? You said that you couldn't change the resolution to 1080p using hacks. I'm assuming you meant the hex edit hacks?

That being the case. Are we meant to play this mod in the 1024x768 resolution? I previously played the game with the widescreen hex edit, and it worked without strecthing. So if I can get that fix to work without stretching would that conflict with your modifications?

You know, I check this website everyday, but haven't posted anything in quite a while. However, with the mod approaching completion I do have a few questions.

1. From reading previous comments, I'm a little confused. Can we play this mod in widescreen (16:9 or 16:10, either is fine) without stretching the models? If so what's the best way to play this mod? I have a monitor which is capable of choosing the aspect ratio, so I can force the aspect ratio on the display only, which means I can maintain the software resolution. Would this be the best way to play this mod?

2. While creating this mod, did you happen upon any deleted or unused content? I'm curious, as this game was rushed to completion.

The new progress bar is pretty cool. Very fitting. Hopefully you can get the mod up and running before Christmas. Would make for one heck of a Christmas present. Anyway just wanted to say that your doing a great job, keep up the good work.

Just watched the new video. The quality is truly excellent. Even though the game is already seven years old. With this mod, you might actually convince someone that the game is only a few years old. Or. You may even be able to convince them that it's a modern release. That's how good it looks.

Also, I have another question, or maybe it's a request?
I would like to know the full list of features this mod is going to have. Of course you already have such a list on the summary page, but there are certain points in the comments, that suggest that a more complete (or more recent) list of features would be nice. For instance in your answers to my earlier questions, you mentioned the improved widescreen support. What resolutions and aspect ratios are supported, is only the most common 16:10 aspect ratio supported?

A full list of features in the mods feature section, would serve to answer almost all of these types of questions. And it would also help those who are only browsing moddb.com, to get a clearer picture of what this mod is supposed to be and what it is capable of achieving.

Really looking forward to this mod. I was actually about to replay Fahrenheit, but with this mod on it's way, I really couldn't bring myself to play it. Not when I know that if I'm patient and wait for just a few months, I can play a much better looking version of the best game ever made, with the best story ever told.

Also, I have a a few questions:
1. Using a hex edit, we have been able to play the game in any custom resolution. However, this "mod" is far from perfect. So, how have you improved/fixed the transition from a 4:3 aspect ratio to a 16:9, or other widescreen resolution? For instance, the videos were always streched, and there were other problems with this (don't really remember what.)
2. Does the mod contain any options regarding the new visuals? Not sure if there is any need for such options, just thought I'd ask.
