I'm the previous commenter.
It's worth the trade off.

I played and fully completed Vanilla and Redux back to back on all difficulties with 5 star rating with all skill drops and upgraded everything.

So this is my full review of this mod and the changes it made.

0. Choose your FOV wisely. And turn off sprint effects.
1. No more damn mouse smoothing. You aim, you fire, you get the expected result and it's effortless. This is the CRUCIAL change that removes frustration and makes all other changes more enjoyable.
2. Weapons are accurate. You actually hit what you aim for. Every long range iron sights head shot brings so much more satisfaction now.
3. Enemies and you are actually humans and die fast. Rifle round to the thorax and you are done. This makes cover necessary and actual tactics possible. In combination with accurate weapons this makes sniping through small holes a very valuable tactic. Nazi storm elites are no longer Cyberdyne t800 in uniform and gas mask. Nazi storm leaders are scarier now.
4. Weapons are well balanced. Some trade-offs were made and some upgrades are inaccessible, but what's remaining is absolutely great. After all g43 with scopes and grenade launcher attachments should not litter the battlefield.
MG42s are scary now. Just as they should be. And Tanks are even scarier then that.
5. Health now makes sense. No regenerating health, and no more running through the entire map searching for 3 medkits to top off your health pool. 1 medkit = full health. This saves so much time and frustration it's not even funny.
6. Overall difficulty of the game and 6 missions are somewhat even now. Husky is no longer walk in the park and Flakturm basement is no longer a dreaded section.

EDIT: What should be improved (if possible) is the Star scoring system. Avalanche and Market Garden does not have enough enemies to get 5 stars without running every single nook and cranny or intensionally dying to get more kills or specifically opting out of using some weapons to keep accuracy high.
This is a factor that brings unnecessary frustration and it should also be eliminated or mitigated in some way. Dying should not be a winning strategy to get a highest rating.

Overall I ABSOLUTELY INSIST that the game MUST BE PLAYED WITH THIS MOD.

Description: Using faucet in Everett's home is not resulting in a water shower.

Bug type: Coding error / Possibly missed trigger.
Issue type : Immersion breaking.

Description: Security bots walk on air in left tunnel(to elevator) after blast doors in area 51 bunker.
Reproducible: Sometimes.
Bug type: Probably mapping related.
Issue type : Immersion breaking.
Issue severity: minor.

Description: Keypads clip through walls on vertical doors with keypads on them. Area 51 bunker and/or Area 51 level 2 maps when vertical doors are open.
Reproducible: Always.
Bug type: Texturing error or object size mismatch.
Issue type : Immersion breaking.
Issue severity: minor.

Description: Part of a map disappears if looked from a corner of a reactor room(ion injectors) to reactors (look left of left reactor)
Reproducible: Always.
Bug type: Mapping related. Probably BSP error
Issue type : Immersion breaking.
Issue severity: Major.

Change FPSLimit to

FPSLimit=120

then please check again your nVidia drivers settings.
set vSync to Application Controlled.

Launch using kenties launcher and make sure FPS Limit is 120 and renderer is Direct3D 10 Support.

If that does not help the try turning off other video capturing/enhancing programs. (fraps/GeDoSaTo/SweetFX etc.)

I'm sorry for the long absence. I'm finally back after long family and work related issues. Here are som more bug reports.

16)
Description: Portion emails on some terminals appear scrambled.
Reproducible: Sometimes.
Bug type: glitch of some sorts.
Issue type: Immersion breaking.
Issue severity: trivial.

How to reproduce:
1) Access computer terminal on one of 3 floors of VersaLife.
2) Hack it.
3) Get temporary access code.
4) Exit teminal.
5) Access another terminal
6) Hack it go to emails.

Result: first portion of email appears scrambled.
Expected result: emails always appear as they should.

Description: Numpad texture is inverted on vertical axis in a secure room of VersaLife on Level 2
Reproducible: Always.
Bug type: Texture mapping oversight.
Issue type : immersion breaking.
Issue severity: minor.

How to reproduce:
1) Go to VersaLife level 2
2) Access secure room down near security access panel with 768 code.
3) look at numpad

Result: Numpad is inverted
Expected result: Numpad is shown as it should or now shown at all if it is not interactive.

Description: Universal constructor catwalks have ceilings without textures.
Reproducible: Always.
Bug type: Texturing/modeling error.
Issue type : Immersion breaking.
Issue severity: Moderate.

How to reproduce:
1) Stand on catwalk.
2) Look up.
3) Throw a throwing knife at a camera above.

Result: Knife is stuck in thin air with a sound of impact. Melee weapons also produce impact sound on thin air.
Expected result: no ceiling or a texture of glass or something.

Description: Universal constructor does not always explode.
Reproducible: Sometimes.
Bug type: Programing/scripting error.
Issue type : Immersion breaking.
Issue severity: Moderate.

How to reproduce:
1) Enter code: 525
2) Climb the ladder.
3) Do not go to catwalk.
4) Wait for explosion.

Result: Middle structure of universal constructor does not explode. (Model is not destructed.) But goal is completed
Expected result: Structure always explodes and destructs.

1. Use DeusExe to setup your screen resolution, AA and other stuff. I recommend to download the latest version. Kentie.net

2. No manual saving on hardcore. Hardcore was designed to emphasize choice and consequences. If manual saving is enabled then it is lost. Just play on Realistic.

3. There are none camera effects disabling options that I'm aware of. Perhaps through console commands it is possible to turn off bob but that would go against the goal of increased immersion.

4. Do not wait for v8.1. It will come out when it's done and it would be mostly minor bug fixes.

5. GMDX uses gmdx maps and assets from New Vision and gmdx.

6. It is preferable to use GMDX.exe It will start deusex.exe with all the stuff and changes it needs.

7.There submods already but. I am not aware of any plans for future submods. However GMDX is a very solid foundation for further mods to build upon so there will inevitably mods in the future.

Also please note that bug on Brooklyn subway station will be fixed in v8.1

Can you please provide us with screenshots. I had a similar issue and it was fixed by updating GPU drivers. (AMD Crimson)

No. Revision and GMDX are conceptually incompatible. Changes made in Revision are contrary to the original ideas in level design of Deus Ex. GMDX improves on the original design without tonal inconsistency of revision and constant dips into uncanny valley.

Resolution and windowed/fullscreen do not play a role here. Trees turn invisible on 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and 1902x1080.

Trees throughout most maps have 2 problems.
1. The turn invisible if you stand point blank to them and look down.
2. You can crouch walk through some of them.

This issue appears on all renderers and is not dx10 specific.

I can confirm that borderless fullscreen and additional mouse buttons do work on DeusExe 8.1

Regarding mouse macro programs:
Most of us have mice with more than 3 buttons. Macro programs and mouse drivers are a workaround. Solution is now implemented in DeusExe.

Should pepper spray and fire extinguisher trigger alarms?
Vanilla laser bypass make no sense but feels great.
Solid objects definitely should trigger alarms. But gasses should not.
Please confirm if gas laser bypass removal is intentional.

Also DTS on 4th level Combat speed + Master in Low-tech has 78 damage. It's 2 points short of damaging 80 point control boxes.

Is it intentional balancing to give Master skill in Electronics more weight or is it just an unlucky coincidence?

I am currently doing pacifist run with added difficulty of not allowing for ANYONE to die on my watch. That includes 'ton hotel fight and Money club fight. I did not find a way to spare Anna though. For the purposes of this walkthrough animals killed by non lethal weapons/ammo are not considered alive.
