Upon further review of your situation, you can do one of two things. If the crash is being caused during the course of the game it is likely a DR problem that I cannot address. There are many issues in the game itself that CM never fixed, but the next release of This is War will contain some possible work arounds to improve the stability of the mission. If it is crashing outright when you try to load your save, try to restart the campaign. If the esave file is not corrupted you will be able to restart the campaign with your progress preserved (ie- all of your points and progress intact). If it still crashes then your esave file was somehow corrupted. If that is the case, go into the data_win/missions/This Is War folder and delete the file with "esave" in the title. This is where your progress/island state is stored. After you delete this file the entire island will be reset and you will have to start from scratch. Hopefully the last solution will not be necessary. If you need a hand letme know and I'll try to help you out.
Is it crashing when trying to save or when loading? The file may have been corrupted some how. You will need to delete the esave file if it was corrupted. Let me know when the crash occurs and I'll post more about removing the save file when I get back to my pc.
First of all, thank you and I'm glad you're enjoying it! I'll try to answer your questions in the order received. I have not written up any kind of manual or anything elses of the like. Outside of the hotkey assignments there's not really much else to know other than pay attention to what the display is telling you to do. There is no autosave feature. You must invoke a save using the numpad 0 key and therecannot be an enemy within 200m at the time of the save. The ammo crates at the startup point will supply you with everything available, beyond that you have to scavenge and loot dead bodies. There will be crates here and there, but not a substantial amount. There is no ai mod built into This is War. Keep practicing on that helo!!
Looks like the start of a really pretty killing machine!
I already have one made TBH. I am also going to include several campaign versions of it that have you starting out at various points on Skira, but all working out of the same save file so that progress in one part of the island remains even when you start out at another point on the island. It also includes the power up EDX modification by dewy from the Operation Flashpoint community forums. I'll post it up some time, I've just been so overwhelmed with school work my brain feels like a scrambled egg.
Just create a folder named "missions". Then put the folder named "This Is War" inside of the missions folder. To use the hotkeys you must unzip the hotkey app inside of the main game folder. That is the one with ofdr.exe. Before you start the game run the hotkey app as administrator. If you have any troubles just let me know and I'll try to help you out.
The intel is marked by a small wooden box. Just go right up to it and wait for a sec and it will disappear. If I remember right you get a mortar or air strike when you get an intel box.
Hard work good, hard work fine, but first take care of head. Hope everything works itself out for you man.
Wow! I never thought I'd see the day when this had over 1000 downloads. Thanks to all for your support. Someday I'll get around to posting the updated version with lights and all.
I hope they make some fast work out of correcting the problems with Altis or this game is going to be a disaster on release day. Thus far it appears there is some kind of major problem with the getNearest* script commands that is causing the game to lock up within a couple of minutes. I really hope it can be worked out with grace before release day.
Hey Homer. Sorry I haven't been around much lately at all. I've been so busy with school and RL that I haven't had any time at all to tinker around with any games. I'll email you the updated version with lights if you still want it. Hit me up on my email if you're getting this.
Really happy to see you're back in the fray 7game. Now there's something to look forward to again!!
It is coop enabled for up to 4 players. A word of warning though. You must have a good ping for coop to work correctly due to the massive amount of processing, but it's definitely fun!
Try looking around on these forums:
Regarding the crash you are experiencing, I'm not sure what the root cause could be, but I am working on a revision that addresses a newly discovered issue regarding the placeable weapons that are found around the island. I also have incorporated the island lighting addon from Dewy on the OFDR forum motion forums. I anticipate the release to be some time in the not so distant future so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks for the kind words about the mission too. I appreciate your feedback.
I'm not sure if I understand the nature of your problem. There is a prohlem with the game when loading from a checkpoint from a cold game start. You might try reloading the mission from the checkpoint a second time. It is a dr issue.
Positively first rate work guys. The integratex esai and whatever tweaks you've done to the ai make for absolutely outstanding game play. I was impressed on the first release, but each release has been an improvement over the last. Keep up the good work!
Please reread my response below. I explain what directory you need to look for and how to find it.
So they do work?? You can't use more than one at a time. What exactly are you trying to accomplish??
Make sure the file ofpdrhotkeys.exe is in your game folder. If you don't know where that is, search your system for the game executable "ofdr.exe". Run the hotkey app as administrator.
This looks outstanding JONES. Can't wait to get the kids to bed so I can have a serious play at it. Great work!!
As of Arma 3 alpha v052 the non-dev version of Urban Conquest no longer works. Please see the dev version if you are using version 052 or higher of Arma 3 alpha.
I never got motion sickness from it, but I agree that the FOV could have used a setting in the options or something. The console concessions made by CM were ultimately the doom of this game in the public eye, but it's still great fun to play.
So says a stupid person that doesn't know about or can't appreciate DR.
That can be done by modifying the games entity database. You can learn how to do this from myself or one of the many community members at the OFDR community forums. Operationflashpoint.forummotion.com
Did you even play my mod before you gave it a 1??
Well I'm pretty sure who still plays this game is a rhetorical, sarcasm laced question and the comment about the editor seems a bit harsh to me as well. In any case... now this page has turned into a discussion about the merits of the game and the very comments contained herein. Not what it should be about. Lets keep the comments about this mod since there is a place on another page reserved for opining about the game itself.
Three of the above comments are taking shots at the game. I don't care if people want to voice their opinion about the game, but this isn't the appropriate place to do it.
The mission editor is not as weak as you make it out to be and the OFDR editor expansion hasvastly incresed the functionality of the editor. It took some time but the community has made great strides with the game despite its shortcomings.
If you guys want to bash DR, you know who you are, why don't you go to the DR game page to do it instead of commenting this crap in my mod page??
