You can get around the Uncle Yar mission bug by sneaking to the right and going into the house from the back, avoiding the zombies.

If it's not going to be in the final release AND doesn't contain anything you have made, then what's the point in releasing it at all?

As for your example: Yes, let's compare a built-from-the-ground-up industry game to a mod that uses other peoples assets. Two completely different scenarios.

If you know you haven't made anything that's yours, then why are you releasing anything? This is the first impression people are getting of your mod, and you've chosen to fill it full of HL2 assets.

Of course we're not expecting anything after 2 months. The question is, why are you doing a media release after 2 months, especially when you haven't done any of the things you said you'll do?

As soon as people see that video, they think "Oh look, it's a HL2 map". How do you expect us to "constructively" criticize a video that contains nothing that anyone hasn't seen before?

And what's this "alpha" for, anyway? An alpha is ment for testing, what are you looking to test if its only got HL2 assets, bar some models that haven't even been made by your team? "our Modellers (being the lazy arses they are) haven't done a thing yet" - What a stupid thing to put in a media release, says a lot about your team.

Here's an idea, why don't you do a media release when you've actually made some of things you say that you're developing? Then you'll get some constructive feedback.

Agreed, you can tell how much experience these people have just by looking at their screenshots. I give it a few weeks before they realise that they actually have no idea what they're doing.

Not to mention Stalker prides itself on large, expansive outdoor areas; which is something the BSP format just cannot handle.
