As mad as I am about the Cease and Desist, I do see WB's point in doing this, and it really comes down to 2 things: Bethesda and the Creation Kit. If you read the Terms and Conditions for the CK, it says,
"You automatically grant to Bethesda Softworks the irrevocable, perpetual, royalty free, sublicensable right and license under all applicable copyrights and intellectual property rights laws to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, perform, display, distribute and otherwise exploit and/or dispose of the New Materials (or any part of the New Materials) in any way Bethesda Softworks, or its respective designee(s), sees fit."
WB probably did their homework, and realized that this could lead to future copyright disagreements with Bethesda.
Still sucks, though.
Oops, nevermind, OBSE wasn't working.
Hey, could somebody let me know if I can get into the Mines of Moria? And if I can, can you let me know how to, please?
can you even get in the mines? I'm at durin's door right now, but they won't open. And yes, I know the password is 'friend', but there isn't even an option for that!
But we saw Bethesda during their week long game jam do both! Do you still think it won't be possible? 0_o
I believe that MERP battles can be finally realized in Skyrim. What this guy did with the engine is AMAZING!
These are just a few, feel free to look through the rest of them if you wish!
oops, delete the last comment "Zero, I did a fresh install of Oblivion."
(and this one) cause I thought you were asking ppl if there were any conflictions.
What do you mean by "Overwrite\"? Are you talking about the install option to put everything directly into the Oblivion folder? I did that, and I still can't launch MERP through the launcher, I still get the error.
AND, if I try to launch through steam, Oblivion always changes my settings back to default, not to how I set them in the MERP launcher.
OBSE, MERP, and Steam are not playing nice together.
I noticed some other things about the missing LOD height map. I get folliage and trees on hills, but no hills, nor can I see the Misty mountains until they come within the loaded grid. Distant buildings also have a pink, green or blue bland texture on them).
ON TOP OF ALL THAT, I get the dreaded "Yellow-Diamond-With-Exclamation-Mark-Inside" mesh on all kinds of stuff. IE: Party tents, the troll statues, some hobbit homes, and possibly many others (I know what there supposed to be from the 0.2.4 beta).
Who knew Steam would mess this up so bad! :(
I'll try to upload a screenshot for you to see, but it takes FOREVER for my game to load now!
Zero, I did a fresh install of Oblivion.
1. LODs don't work at all. I can only load my current grid, plus, I have to do the "Remove Borders" tweak to get it to work (I teleport to Hobbiton using "cow MiddleEarth -45,45", and it tells me I can't go that way, then sends me back to my previous location).
By the way, I'm using the "Play" button in Steam, not MERP launcher.
Which brings me to my 2nd problem...
2. OBSE is not letting it launch outside of Steam. It gives an error that you have to launch Oblivion through steam for it to work. The launcher loads, I set my specs, launch MERP, get a very cool splash screen, then ERROR.
Did you test this to work in Steam, or are you using only the CD version? PLEASE HELP!
Also think of it this way, your character is jogging, not walking. It would take even longer that way! So the map is even bigger than you think!
