In retrospect, I like this film grain much more than the last picture.

Indies put their heart and soul into development. I think stealing from that is just cruel.

Lack of documentation is a big one for me. Its one thing to enter into a new engine, its another thing to do it blindly.

I did, however, get successful model importing into Torque from Blender 2.49 (Not 2.5 yet), which is good news so far. Also means I can use Torque for at least a proof of concept, then when the gears roll maybe focus on something more graphical.

Actually it is just the render.

It was made in Google Sketch-up and rendered with YafaRay. Normally this render wouldn't be so grainy only there is an extreme lack of light.

I've used the others before but never seen XreaL. I'll see what I can do with that with what I have left with the weekend.

I work with Linux machines, and when I wanted to play games on my old Linux desktop, I was pretty disappointed in my limited selections.

But the advantage is a plus too.

Supporting Linux is a big one. I don't have any chance of making a splash in the PC area alone.

The phrase is 'big fish in a small pond'.
Wolfire explains this better: Blog.wolfire.com

While UDK is an excellent option, it would be better and easier for me to use a lower grade uglier engine that to set a high bar and aim for even higher.

Oh and I don't have a team. This is a solo project.

Creepy and scary takes a lot of factors to get right so that they feel right.

Well we can see if its more or less cute when its textured.

If it turns out to be more cute, maybe I'll use the creature for something else.

I don't think I've ever had such a problem, but if my exports are doing that I can fix them.

I was aiming for creepy, not really scary.

I think them being actually scary will depend on how they move in game, as well as sound and act.

I've never animated anything like it, so its going to be a unique experience to say the least.

Thats just one of the default modes in Sculptris.

I'll render it differently from now on.

Ever since you brought it up it looks awkward to me.

It will be shortened.

That end cap cover is rubber and used for when your eye is up against the scope so it won't smack you in the face. Mostly so that surrounding light won't impair your vision.

A closer picture of a same brand scope can be found here:

If it still looks funny I could take it out.

I'm not much of a concept artist so I may have to fully create a map to portray what I mean.

Looking at it now that its been uploaded, I think instead of a random blue torch, maybe a hole in the ceiling would definitely look better for the scene.

Its intended to be a distorted heavy rust.

The final version will surely be a little less 'bloody', but I don't think a flat brown rust looks very good.

I don't know what you mean by TM.

I will, however, put some detail into the Tufrig and hopefully soon a good texture, and possibly make new models of the other monsters to be seen.

I tried Z-brush and had a difficult time with it. I really appreciate the simplicity of Sculptris, even if I'm not very good with it yet.

That is a good idea. I don't know why it wasn't like that before, now it just seems obvious.

It is a rough model of a very rough looking object, but more importantly this is roughly not even close to what it was supposed to be.

According to my design plan, this crude 'dagger' is actually supposed to be a refined machete. My bad.

But I'll keep that in mind for the 'real' weapon model.

I'm glad you brought it up though.
