Hmmm, i dont know then, as far as i can test, it seems to be working, so its probably something with your installation or computer. You could try to reinstall the game and mod.

Jonsin! Long time no chat :) I dont have 4k, but i did get my friend to start a game of sta3 on his 4k tv, and that worked without problem, so it shouldnt be a problem with the mod.

Stupid question, but have you installed the main menu hotfix patch?

You need to copy the galaxyscenariodef file from the mod into the galaxy forge folder. This file contains all the definitions of planets and such that galaxy forge needs.

You can suppress the error message simply by not playing in dev mode ;)

The cloak ability on normal ships only cloak the ship itself.

There are however "Cloak fleet" abilities on some capital ships that will cloak every ship in a radius around it.

The ai behavior can be very different from game to game, so its not always easy to guarantee a smooth increase in difficulty, but i do also think that the difficulty you can beat, depends on how much you have played. When i play with my friends, we usually play vs expert ai(admittedly we die half the times :D)

When it comes to the political research, if you want for example the romulan specialization, you first need to get your relations with a romulan player up to 15, and then send the romulan pact to him via the diplomacy tab. You get the romulan pact from the first bit of research in the romulan specialization, once he has accepted your pact, you can fill out the rest of the romulan research for some nice bonuses ;)

You cant build starbases on shattered moons, this is so that map creators have an extra toy to create tactical maps.

Also, you cant build a starbase around a planet that already has an outpost

No, unless you want to mod the mod so to speak.

If you want to create your own little addon to make ships stand still in combat, you basically just need to change all of the ships movement types away from "fighter"

You should use the enabled-mods.txt file to enable/disable mods, it should look like this if you want tff, nemesis and icon replacer active:

You need 1 capital slot and 50 ship slots to be able to spawn heroes.

I don't even think its possible to force symbols for the races tho, and we want to leave the choice open anyways ;)

There is always galaxy forge, its a tool that you can use to view and edit the maps, its actually the tool that was used to create all the maps of this mod.

This tool can do what you want, but it has got a bit of a learning curve, so here is a tutorial that should show you the basics:

Glad to hear you are enjoying the mod :)

The ships are supposed to maneuver in fights, this is intentionally done to try and mimic how star trek battles go down, they dont just sit in front of each other ;)

The borg are weak early-mid game, so you have to play rather agressively against them, if you sit back and let them expand and tech up unchallenged, they will crush you ;)

Also, it might be a good idea to check the game integrity in via steam, here's a gif showing how its done:

Also, make sure to NOT use large adress aware, as it is now a part of the base game, and applying large adress aware will cause issues for the game.

Just follow the install instructions, and then launch sins normally through steam. Dev mode isnt required to play sins mods ;)

Battle cloak is a passive ability, it will randomly cloak your ship for short duration during combat, kind of like you see the klingons and romulans do in the show ;)

You shouldnt use large adress aware with sins anymore, they included it in the base game a couple of patches ago.

It is highly likely that large adress aware is the source of these issues, i would recommend verifying game integrity in steam to get rid of large adress aware, and then try to reinstall the mod

Just to be sure that you are doing everything correct, here is a tutorial that you can follow:

Also, you shouldnt pay too much attention to the dev mode errors. For example, those "Gridpoint invalid" errors are complaining that some of the research is set to appear outside of your screen, this is the hidden research that the ai gets access to. These errors are intentional.

I would recommend not playing in dev mode ;)

They should build it at any difficulty, however, you do usually have to slaughter their fleet first as they spam so many ships that they never have the ship slots required to build the sausage of doom

I do not believe that there is any plan to bring in the new excalibur model as we like the current one more.

With the beta testing, we are looking to mostly do internal testing as setting up an open beta test is a big hazzle, and shouldnt be required for a
bug fixing patch

Suffice it to say, none of us are very big fans of the galaxy x, so it is highly unlikely that it will make it into the game i'm afraid.
