Shrapnel Games are publisher on those two games, so I don't think they can do that.
There's a linux version. The Windows and Linux version is bundle together.
You can try Conquest of Elysium 2. It's free: Shrapnelgames.com
Though Conquest of Elysium 2 is old, you'll get an idea what Conquest of Elysium 3 is (Just better).
These games are about gameplay and re-playability, not fancy graphic.
Close Desura completely, then try again. If it doesn't help use Desura (force update). If that doesn't help either, you can download CoE3 separately from Desura/CoE3 site (you'll see the downloads in the box to the right).
Have you tried to install OSS alsa wrapper?
In Ubuntu/Debian it's called 'liboss-salsa2'.
It would be better to use the CoE3 forums for crunching problems.
