Played this wayyy back when Half-Life 2 mods (multiplayer mods in particular) were still going very strong. Circa... 2010-ish maybe?? This and Perfect Dark: Source were among my most favorite to play. Been hearing some chatter lately about GE:Source, REALLY hoping it makes a resurgence, as it was SO much fun to play. Regardless, hats off to the devs for creating such a masterpiece!
SO NICE to see this hidden gem getting some well deserved polish. This has been one of my favorite games since I bought the limited edition box for Xbox 360. I'm still not sure how it flew under the radar for so many people. Disregarding the f***ery the devs dealt with from Bethesda, essentially forcing them to scrap a proper sequel that was already halfway complete. Anyways, about this mod!!
This HD pack (up to version 1.2 at least) actually runs swimmingly on my low-mid end hardware. Which really surprised me! I have upgraded my CPU since last I played it, but my specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ 2.7ghz (Brisbane)
[upgraded to AMD Phenom II X4 955 (95W)]
AMD Radeon R7 250 2GB GDDR3 (OEM)
2x2GB DDR2-800
It did stutter just a bit with my old CPU, could be my RAM or GPU status. My motherboard is from 2009 after all. But, without question, this HD pack delivers! I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of playing or re-playing Prey 2006.
Thought I'd check on it a few days ago and was surprised to find it was updated several times since last I checked. Thanks for continuing to work on it! Anxious to see if my PC melts into a puddle now that the file size jumped from ~3GB to ~7GB.
This mod really adds a nice aesthetic to the game.
I think it's amazing what this developer has done. Essentially, creating a source port for the classic Command & Conquer: Red Alert by Westwood Studios. And they didn't stop there! OpenRA now supports Red Alert, Tiberian Dawn, and Dune 2000! I can't wait to see how they do with adding Tiberian Sun and more in the future.
One of the greatest games I have ever played and provoked me to replay it multiple times. This game is pure genius. Highly recommended.
