If you are speaking of the Gunnery Training mission, then this is intended behaviour - you get the default loadout for each ship, missiles are not allowed - it is how the Gunnery Training mission in X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter does things.

I may have left the option for missiles on the Imperial side enabled, because playing the imps is far more difficult as the Rebel enemies have shields.

X-Wing is the default ship on the Rebel version, you should be able to change ship in the ship selection before starting the mission.

Found another bug. The Thargoid Laser only had a range of 225m - which is wrong, it should be 3000m just like all the other lasers in the mod.
Also, was using an effect I did not intend for it to use.

Both issues resolved, and the bug fix is in the downloads section. You'll have to apply this one manually - just unzip and copy into to your Freelancer installation folder.

No, 0.3a patch, patches 0.3 to 0.3a - well it's supposed to, but doesn't work with FLMM because I set the mod properties incorrectly so that nothing else could be applied.
Best to download 0.3a full version and install on a fresh copy of Freelancer.
Also - just released another bug fix (see downloads) - you'll need to apply this one manually though.

Yes, got it working, first time, without any major problems.
I hadn't played FS2 for a long time so it wasn't installed. I just used the java installer package provided by the FSO team (with my GOG copy of the game installer) and installed everything - then just copied your mod files in to the folder, configured the launcher and it all worked. I really do love the feel of the gameplay - I think you've got that nailed perfectly. Sound, music and graphics are also excellent :)

I am aware of FRED2, but not ever really used it - to let you know, I have modded another game (Freelancer), and I am a software developer with 20 years experience in many varied technologies, so I am confident I can pick it up and understand what's going on with it, I just need a little help to get started.

This is awesome.
Looking forward to future releases.

Q. Where would I get started on creating missions for this mod?

If you downloaded the latest version before 15:30 GMT on 5th December 2013, you may have an issue with the mod archive being corrupted. This should now be fixed, please download again.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

The new version (0.2) should resolve these issues, by default all changing of the HUD field of view angles has been disabled.

If you want to shift out the hud on widescreen, you will need to edit dacom.ini in the EXE folder, and uncomment the line ;HudShift.dll by removing the ; character.

Please try the newer version released on Nov 14. There were some pesky left over flmmbak files in the previous release which would have interfered with the mod application. A few others had the same issue, the newer version resolved the problems.

Widescreen issues.

If you have a monitor that is not 16:9 aspect ratio/resolution, you will need to edit \DATA\INTERFACE\HudShift.ini using notepad or similar.

Change line 1 to [HUDShift]
Change line 8 to [;HUDShift]

This should cure any problems with the menu items being off-screen

More to come in the coming months. Haven't got a definite release date for the next version/update yet - probably August/September depending on how much I decide to add.

Hi, the widescreen issue has come up with a few others as well.
This is down to the camera settings being fixed for widescreen in DATA\INTERFACE\HudShift.ini. If you uncomment the first line in that file from [;HUDShift] to [HUDShift], and the reverse to line 8 (where it's setting the horizontal angle), it'll work.

As for your crashes - no-one else has reported these. The only thing I know of that causes crash to desktop is not removing Restart.fl and Autosave.fl from <MyDocuments>\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\SinglePlayer.

Things to try:

The game is set up to run in 1920x1080 resolution, you can change this in the perfoptions.ini file in <MyDocuments>\My Games\Freelancer\PerfOptions.ini, at the bottom is the display section - change this to 1024x768 to start with, and take it from there.

Also, make sure you remove all previous save games from <MyDocuments>\My Games\Freelancer\Accts\SinglePlayer

Also make sure 3D sound is disabled - this is a usual cause of issues on Windows 7/8

I have the game running in Windows 7 and Windows 8

Thanks for the feedback - it's things like this I need to add to the readme
