Same problem here. I'll report on the forum asap, I'm guessing that's the encouraged practice.

I'm running 1.02. Can I just update to 1.05 and continue playing, or do I have to make a new game?

I too can't complete the quest with Seriy, as he's dead when I get to him. Help would be appreciated.
