Ok, here is what I found out. That guy was carrying, in his inventory but not equiped, the AK-74. I think it was the worn one.
I wound up shooting him in the knee to get him to surrender, which took a lot of tries. When killing him, i guess it tried to re equip it but it couldnt find the texture. Neither a clean install (with the latest 1.7.4) nor the original (patched 1.7 + fix 2) crashed when shooting him in the knee. It was only if he died AND dropped that.

So, after removing his head so to speak, I have not found any further issues.

After all things were resolved, I determined that my case was to delete shader cache folder, not execute the bandit but steal his guns, THEN disassemble the gun. Though to be honest, I am not sure if it was just a problem for him. Will let you know if another similar error pops up.

Haha... I try to do MY part and test every angle!
It's a waste of your time if I dont try several different things... in my case, file and stack tracing... :-D IT guy here, so I like to troubleshoot before just complaining!

Mod has been running great for me! TONS of fun.
I am loving the addition of weapons in the latest version.

I have one new error. WHile shooting a bandit in the face (rather, any kill shot... but shooting in the face sounds more like borderlands...) I get a hang and eventual crash. It appears to be caused by the bump for his weapon based on the fatal:

And here is the setting that changed it... Dont know how or why, but works for me:
Disable SSAO and delete the shaders_cache folder.
LOVING it!
A new game was required for me, but no biggie. Gives me a chance to shoot some bandits in the back again... haha.

I tried all versions of DX, same problem.
Next, I disabled bump mapping and retried. Same problem.
PM me if you would like me to do some more in depth testing. I LOVE your mod, and have plenty of time to help test fixes or scenarios.

Sorry! Same person. Turns out I wasnt logged in.
Installed TF2, same issue. Attempted new game as well, same problem. I will upload the most recent log file, as it is slightly different. Great responsiveness by the way!
I read on the forum that "Dynamic Lighting" is required. By that, do you require the basic dynam, or does DX11 work as well?

Appears texture related. I deleted the errant file and no problems, but TBH, not sure what I am missing out on! :-P

It gives an error saying:
"not a valid win 32 application"
Works in XP, so far, not in W7.
