I'm that one guy that doesn't hang out on ModDB often, but is still regarded to be pretty Awesome by some.. even if the work I deliver may not be the best there is.

No, I think you misunderstand. There is no program. They're just renamed files.

I was planning on doing it differently later on, but I kinda never did it properly.

SIGEN6.dat and WindowSIGEN.dat are just .big files with a .dat extension. There's no difference. You should just rename them. SIGEN6.dat is likely INIZH.big and WindowSIGEN.dat is probably WindowZH.big..

SIGENlaunch.dat is actually Install_Final.bmp- the splashscreen from launch. And SIGENstring.dat replaces the Generals.str in the Data folder.. I think I used to replace the icon as well.. not sure.

The other dat files, which all have 'ZH' in the name, are actually the original ZH files. The backup, to change everything back after you close the game. If my launcher ever broke during the game it might've screwed up people's installations..

Like I said, I was kind of a hack. Nowadays I would definitely do it differently, probably go along with the common mod styles, perhaps make a proper version to work with the commonly used Mod Manager.. But I have no intention of working on the SIGEN mod again.

Ooooh, you want to open the dat files, right.. Well, er.. Let me just admit that I waa a bad programmer back then and.. Well.. They're just renamed. There is no fancy conversion. The .dat files are just .big files under a different name. Except the launcher image, that .dat file is actually a .bmp, if I recall correctly.

I've been doing a bit of looking back and replying to things from years ago even, but I cannot come back to check on this. The mod's done and over, dead and everything. I hope you all still enjoy this shoddy little mod, but beyond that, I'm not doing anything anymore with it.

The Tunnel Network was picked over the Toxin Network as to add.. just a slight bit of balance. The Tunnel Network was only used to move units, and not as actual defensive structure.

If you want to defend the Tunnel Network, add one of the turrets or the bunker.. ;)

I was using an altered version of her war factory, anyway. But it didn't have the Paladin cause I didn't WANT the Paladin, not cause it was USA.

If you look closely, the image informs you that there are in fact USA and GLA vehicles in there too, aside from the chinese ones.

I ah.. wasn't that much of a fan of the Paladin. This mod was created to add a force with superior firepower, and the paladin, in my opinion, kinda doesn't match up to the chinese tanks.

I presume you may have some corrupt files there.. my mod basically puts clean files with the mod into the folder, so if your game is running better with the SIGEN mod, your normal files are probably not that clean anymore.

Since this doesn't actually install anything, go ahead? The only problem is that this mod requires vanilla Zero Hour to run, so if you want to play SIGEN mod again, you'll want to uninstall the other mod.

I'm still checking on a weekly base if there's something new, but really WORKING on it, nope.

Keep paying attention though, I might be posting something new in the near-ish future. Might actually still take awhile, but eh. It's mostly a concept rather than actually something.

I would, but nobody really took me up on the offer to help pinpoint all the bugs.

If anything, I could release a hotfix for that spawn bug, but eh..

I dont think I'll ever do REAL work on this mod again. I've got others things to do first. I've also got different mods planned, but it'll need time and preparation. Also a team this time... but ah, that's all in the future.

Well, it isn't meant to be a full conversion mod, but rather an introduction for us into the world of modding.

It may not be a good mod, but it's stable and working. That's more than I can say about most mods.

Lemme know when you decide to create your own mod. :P
