I had a LOT of fun with this. Despite a few bugs and inconsistencies, it is an enormous and varied experience, with a ton of fun setpieces and encounters. I thought that some of the levels felt bigger and emptier than they needed to be (and I could have done without the maze), but they were in the minority. Extra kudos for the art design, especially later on!
This was great! Some great new mechanics (including one that was teased for Portal 2) and many gorgeous levels! The story felt a little weak, but was very well written and acted. I also found it interesting how long before you get to place both portals!
An improvement on the first for me. I'm a big fan of the environments!
Considered one of the best for a reason. A nice little story with Valve quality writing. I really liked the art design in the opening scenes!
Quite the brain-pulverizing achievement. Many times I thought I'd never solve a chamber, and ended up feeling like a genius in the end! While there isn't much story, the writing is very good. Despite one late game chamber that felt like it was slightly breaking the established rules, the puzzle design is insane in the best way! Given that I almost gave up at the 4th chamber for not feeling smart enough, I'm VERY glad I saw it through!
The followup to one of my all time favorite Half-Life 2 mods is ALSO one of my all time favorites! A very uncommon setting for a Source mod,it continues Snowdrop's innovative gameplay tweaks that sets it apart from most. I had a save corrupt near the end, but it didn't repeat when I replayed the section. I'm also a sucker for levels that feel like real places!
This free mod has more quality content than many full priced games. The gunplay and level variety is amazing. Some of the props seem too hi-res, but overall it's clearly a huge labor of love!
