One last suggestion I can think of is to remove reinforcement points in GC land battles and make it similar to space battles. I remember I played a mod that did this and it made ground battles enjoyable.

Hey whats up. I'm new to moddb. I got alot of time to kill so i thought I'd join up. A little bit about me- I digg soccer, its my passion more than anything hence the name xD. I like to lift- you can ask me anything about weight training. The only real video game I play is EaW/ FoC and ocassionally Rome Total War. Other than that- other video games dont really interest me.
