I dunno. You're never on when I'm at my computer :( Schools ending today though, so I might be on more soon.

Heh, don't worry about it. I'm just bugging you. Truly, I think it's better to make a brief post that gets right to the point while forgoing niceties instead of a long post that brings in unnecessary details and serves only to waste peoples' time.
Gah. You are becoming Leilei :o That is, you make 10 word or under posts that are supposed to be witty, clever, and jaded.
Oh, I think I understand the point you were trying to make now.
I think it's because this is a modding community, and people who mod are also typically gamers. Being a gamer, you need a new rig every so often which Dell provides. I don't exactly see what you're going on about with the prize that is not a Dell product.
They're probably not, but it allows them to paste their name on something.
Ah, the format of the news post got extremely screwed up. Could a staffy figure out why my text doesn't seem to fall inside the span tag like it appeared in the preview.
All the Pretty Horses
Cormac McCarthy
Western-ish
Just got started on this one, but so far, so good. I'm really getting into McCarthy's Faulkner-esque style. Pretty Horses tells the story of John Grady, a boy of 15 who is the last in a long line of ranchers. John Grady packs his bags and begins a journey south to Mexico with a buddy. The pair manage to pick up some other companions on the way. Seems to be shaping up to be a surprisingly powerful adventure tinged with romance and action.
I'll keep you updated.
This is one of the most consistent and most quickly developed mods around. 'Grats! I'd love to see a lot of video game memorabilia and objects pictured in the comic once you get a modeler for objects. Also, where's the John Romero love lair?
Looks great. My main criticism is that the animations seem rather slow though.
This is so incredible. This must be one of my all time favorite mods. It ranks alongside greats like The Specialists for me. With Beta 2 you stepped it up a notch and smoothed it out, but the visceral melee experience remains only with fewer flaws.
There's something about a 1 on 1 on 1 duel in arena that is simply fantastic.
With no offense intended, I believe you're not seeing the point people are attempting to make. That point being that Steam, at this point, works properly for the VAST MAJORITY of people. Just like any piece of software, it may have occasional errors with certain machines, but just because YOU are having those problems with it does not mean said problems are universal. Everyone I know who uses Steam enjoys it, and that seems to be a fair indication.
And I believe that the problems people are posting about on forums (that you mentioned) were largely posted when Steam was first coming out. Since then, the quantity of issues has dramatically improved, and only a small number of people post about errors on forums.
Good job, guys. Still a little bland, of course, but fantastic progress and great ideas. This is one of the most promising and consistent mods I've seen in a while.
Hold on - So how do we submit something that we write for this?
The Road
Cormac McCarthy
Post-apocalyptic
In The Road, nothing is described too clearly, nothing is spelled out, nothing named. Punctuation is even in absence, making the story all the more lacking in boundaries. McCarthy has crafted what I consider to be a masterpiece in this novel of a father and his sun trekking across the burned remains of earth. He presents intriguing dialogue, and a story free of the usual constraints of an event by event plot.
Read it, then thank me ;)
Not too bad really. Life's been pretty unremarkable, but I don't have a lot to complain about. Still checking out mods from time to time, though I've lost much of my former interest.
Ugly looking? Personally, I think the new layouts fantastic, and a huge improvement over the previous design (not that that's saying much)
