There might be a few new patches in this update idk?
Just wanted to comment and thank all the developers of this mod. When I first downloaded this mod I was in my final years of High school and having played MOS for a few years I was curious was DAC would be like. And to see the mod still thriving in 2023 having just completed my undergraduate degree is completely astonishing. Once again the effort you guys put into this mod is astounding and I hope to be playing for many more years to come :)
It will eventually be released here but they do not want to clutter the site with the number of patches and fixes they are doing over on the Discord. Please, if you are annoyed at it's slow release remember that the people working on the mod are ordinary people with lives outside of this and they do not get paid for such work. I'm not suggesting you personally are like this but this is just a message to anyone who reads this :)
You cannot in this mod, they have disabled it. You can upgrade certain settlements depending on your Race/nation but these are described in game i.e. Fornost as the Northern Dunedain
The full release is as yet unknown. The Beta is of course available to download on the Discord. It has had several amendments made to it to make it more stable but with the Devs only doing work as and when they have freetime I'm unsure when it will be released :)
I would seek an answer on the Discord. It's more active and quicker there :)
If you go into a Settlements details you can change the name of any city if you own it. Simply click on the name at the top and you can change it at will. You can use any name. I am not aware if they change automatically but you can do that yourself. I have a feeling Amon Lanc is a change but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm sure they're on the Discord somewhere, or someone who knows better than me :)
I believe they probably get a few new units and maybe a graphical change but I haven't formed it yet so idk fully
So if you play the Dunedin and follow Aragorns quest line you eventually reform it. I'm not sure the specific requirements but it will tell you
The mod allows you to choose between Armor and the Reunited kingdom yes.
I think, if the LAA patch is applied, then possibly graphics can be an issue. Sometimes though because this mod is just so large and ambitious it just crashes. It's annoying but the only real solution is to save before every battle tbh :). I know I have trouble with crashes occassionally.
I don't think there will be as there is a limit on the number of available units in the game. They would most likely have to remove a unit from another nation to add one to Mirkwood :)
I don't think there is any plan to do this. The Island of Numenor was sunk beneath the ocean Millenia before this game starts and the Oricarni are already semi represented in many of the Dwarves and the Variags units (if you choose good). Extending the map I don't think is possible as the game is hardcoded to a certain limit, though I could be wrong on that.
Ich glaube nicht, dass es ein Datum für die vollständige Veröffentlichung gibt. If this is terrible German I'm sorry, I used google translate lol :)
Unfortunately the MOD has a limited number of available units for the game to use, and a unit has to have more than one person in the gamefiles as it needs a "captain" "flagbearer" etc. This means any "Sauron" unit would have multiple Saurons, when this happened in previous versions it would often lead to unstable gameplay as the unit meshes would crash the game. This is why they have changed many of the larger units into super powerful units, like a lot of small Saurons. This makes the game stable and run easier :)
Yes I understand that but that would be a ridiculously long and unnecessary solution to downloading just one file as it is now. They have already integrated Third Age Total war, the original base Mod, to include the game as well would not only make it unfeasible but also run into copyright and trademark lawsuits most likely
I would recommend taking this to the dedicated Discord server for fixes :)
That will definitely not be happening, the Mod developers rely on the base game and it's DLC for the majority of how the Mod works.
The only thing I could suggest is that something went wrong in the installation or download of the original file. Try downloading and installing it again, then if that doesn't work go to the Discord for help :)
I do not believe those are available in the Beta download, they will be in the full download. The beta is to get as many people testing the main campaign as possible before releasing so it can be as perfect as possible. There is of course more information available in the Discord linked in the description of the Mod page
It's a completely new install, you do not need a previous version to install it, just Medieval 2 and it's Kingdoms DLC
It's typically a problem in all early Total War games. If you're a smaller nation like Dol Amroth and your allies believe they know roughly where your terrain ends and starts then they won't be interested in getting map info from you unless you offer them something else like money. Also your map information is worth less than what theirs is to you
That will not be happening I'm afraid. This MOD tries to stay as lore friendly as possible and Dwarves simply do not ride Goats, Horses or any other mammal unless they absolutely have to like in the Hobbit after leaving Beorn's house or Gimli with Aragorn and Legolas in LOTR.
You can use the "Google Docs" download, I tried using the MEGA download but encountered the same problem. The Google Docs download worked properly though
I had this small issue too. Do you have two files called "Kingdoms" and "Medieval 2" or something along those lines? I found that selecting both of those executables when running the LAA patch and making sure the box is ticked (for some reason the second time choosing one it wasn't ticked) then it worked. A little confusing at first but easily fixable :)
Hey TED, I don't know when you are going to read this, but thank you so much for the effort you and the other devs put into this MOD. When I first downloaded DAC 1.2 in 2016 I was not expecting to see how far this MOD has grown, and now with the Open Beta release on Discord (link above for anyone who wants it) I am very ready to play even more DAC and experience all the extra work you and current and previous members have put into this MOD
I imagine it would probably be accounced beforehand. There was talk about it possibly being released before the end of the year but considering it's 7th december and Christmas is usually a busy time for people I wouldn't hold my breath about it
Currently as far as I am aware, the side that Enedwaith choose (evil or good) is the side that they get for the quest for the ring. If you choose evil then Sauron will request it. The only reason Isengard can take it is that they have a faction leader at least capable of holding the power of the ring i.e. Saruman. I have no idea about the script of passing the ring to Saruman that would have to be suggested in the Discord linked above
