Those are men, with some black shields and white hands on them. Obviously no disrespect intended, but even as filler for an actual future model, this seems rather silly :)

This is an unfortunate thing to hear, perhaps in later patches it may be addressed :)

Could someone kindly help me fix the autoresolve problem, even changing the med 2 preferences doesn't fix the automatic resolving of battles

2 problems I am having:

1. I don't even have an option to try to make an alliance with Gondor, even though we have great relations and neither of us have enemies that are allied to the other.

2. Nothing I do disables autoresolve whenever I am attacked by the ai in a hotseat campaign.

He asked where he could download the game, and I told him that I didn't think there was a way to crack med 2 yet, and that he would need the disc. Someone else chimed in with one that apparently works, although one of my friends tried many torrents when his disc broke and eventually had to order a new one.

Oops didn't respond fast enough, yeah DuBaas, the autoresolve in hotseat bug, even when I put autoresolve = 0 under hotseat in my cfg and then set it as read only so it doesn't change back, it still autoresolves when defending. Did 3.0 break that fix?

Hi guys, still in love with this mod, but autoresolve battles is unable to be disabled using the autoresolve = false and then converted into read only fix. Anyone have an update for version 3 and up?

I'm curious as to name of the capitol of Hyrule as Hyrule Prime. I can find no reference in any lore of the word prime being used. Anyone know why it was chosen for the mod? It doesn't bother me or anything, just curious.

I know I'm probably barking up the wrong tree here, but for pure fun's sake I decided to make it so different factions could use eachother's units. I got all the way through Gondor and Rohan in the battle_models.db and their units worked fine with any faction. Then I got to the high elves. For some reason, and I've double-checked myself here, once I make even one faction able to use one elven unit, the game crashes, which I've isolated to the bmdb. I've scoured for any mistake I might have made, but no matter which elven unit I choose, I can't get the game to load. Is there a specific reason this faction's units are off limits?

Purely hypothetical, but would there be a way to make an event such as the arnor union as a reward for owning certain territories and have it repeat for the duration that a faction owns them?

He was probably allies with them, and he was making so much money that he was able to offer it for Gondor's territories for large sums, and afford to do so, thereby slowly buying it out. I did this once too, I was the High Elves and I actually bought out Eriador, and they are always so happy to sell you their territories. Then, when they wouldn't sell me anymore, I put an army next to each of their 6 remaining cities as I paid them not to get alarmed by my growing presence in their territories, and then I broke alliance and laid siege to them and took all six of their territories in one turn. It was amazing!

Hey guys, curious if anyone knows which files besides export_descr_building that I'd have to edit in order to make it so that say I'm the elves and I capture the Orthanc, I'd be able to make Isengard Pikemen out of there. It seems like a fun idea to me, I know it isn't realistic, but it changes the entire strategy of the game. Lemme know your thoughts!

So I'm having a problem making a custom battle on Minas Tirith. I can't. No matter what size I make the settlement, it always changes to be Osgiliath. Anyone else having this issue?

I had this idea to try out with my friend for a hotseat campaign. We wanted to see if we could edit some files so that when you took a certain territory and the enemy had built a specific building there, it would allow you to build a specific unit of theirs that you otherwise couldn't. Obviously this doesn't mesh with the lore very well, but we thought it'd make the game interesting, being invaded with orcs of gondor or elves of rhun making for an interesting twist for us, and make taking specific settlements more beneficial than others. After playing around with the unit_descr and the other text file that controls the necessary requirements to build a unit, (ie 40% elven culture plus elven stables to build specific elven cavalry), we were still unsuccessful. I'm wondering now how the mechanic that controls who can build what is dictated. Any ideas?

I just saw the exceptional new Rohan intro. I was blown away, and am now wondering if you have redone the other faction opening videos.

Actually nevermind, the apparent fix for those who were not aware involves adding the line turns = 0 into the medieval.preference cfg file in the original medieval folder, and making the file read only. Cheers!

hey which ones are you trying to use? Sometimes they aren't updated for the specific patch of third age or there are specific install instructions that can be tricky, such as defeat this file or edit that file, etc.

Hey guys, I know I've seen this asked but haven't come across any direct answer, so just as a refresher, I was wondering if there's a known fix for the hotseat autoresolve issue, wherein if you are attacked while it is not your turn, you do not get to fight, and then next turn you get to look at your defeated little remaining force and cry because you could not do anything about it lol. I know that in the single player campaign this issue doesn't happen, but in hotseat even if you don't put a check in the autoresolve all battles box, it still will anyway. Thanks for the help!

the file you are looking for is in

C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data\world \maps\campaign\imperial_campaign

It's in the campaign_script file, and labeled Garrison Script 3.5 or some such nonsense. Just delete a few of those northern rohan towns from the list, or delete the whole entry if you want.

Oh of course. I'm well aware of the Lord of the Rings lore, so of course I know they are the same, but humor me lol. I mean once I've divided the territories up between the two and switched the byzantium empire in the descr_strat to playable, and I've taken out the script for the arnor reunion in the campaign_script, I'm not sure where to go from there.

Okay, lets say I was feeling very silly and decided I wanted to add arnor as a playable faction next to eriador, and I took out all initial relations including the events that cause good factions and evil factions to hate each other so that anything could happen on my map because i thought watching things like rohan and gondor fight over the mountain pass between the two made for good entertainment. Besides splitting up the territories in the descr_strat, which file would i need to edit in order to make arnor a starting faction?

Let's say I was feeling silly and wanted to make arnor and eriador separate distinct factions that existed next to each other on the campaign map, how might I go about this?
