check our forums. I think its a windows vista bug.

noted. won't happen again, sorry guys.
Yes, blood indicator fpr hits, also the crosshair changes and you can hear a click sound for every hit.
Concerning your lag issues: That is not a server thing as must of the players don't have those problems. This must be related to your operating system or laptop.
Settings: You can configuration your options pretty easily. Check your config for that.
Gunship: You can spawn on a gunship. Once one is up, a big button on top of the spawn screen flashes.
Very nice interview! Good to see you guys on screen!
awright guys, more mirrors are up on our page:
You can also directly download it here at moddb!
yeah. you hear a click sound when you do damage to something. also the crosshair turns white
Definitly get your comments.
1.) Pretty sure it wont work with our gameplay.
2.) Definitly an idea I had before. We will see what we can develop there
Thx for the suggestions. Keep it coming!
Again, as mentioned, more mirrors are coming up in 4 hours. We had an exclusive 24h deal with IGN. But again, files are coming.
Its not our only host. We just had a 24h exclusive hosting deal with them. New mirrors are coming up.
Mirror are coming up in about 4 hours from now.
So hang tied.
Definitly. We will be adding more sounds.
But for your information, there are impact sounds when the ship gets hit. Also, reason why you don't hear the engine is because of the scalling we use space/infantry. I adjusted the sound DB to space, cause right now you cannot seperate them. If you would run em on infantry, the space part would be very loud. YOu would here ships from on the other side of the map. Our 1:40 scaling is causing the problem. We might be able to fix that, so you can actually hear the engines inside the hangars.
Also, we will be adding more sounds to the interrior, like enviroment sounds and atmosphere tracks. That I didn't have enough time for. It is not just making the sounds, you need to work together with the mappers. That just wasn't our priority. We needed to get the maps done and working. But this is up next!
You just need the Source SDK pack and you are ready to go.
actually send pictures in of you drooling on your keyboard, and we might sign you up for a sneak peak at the game :P
its up on chainsaw-project.com
get it
I will up it on my website... www.chainsaw-project.com..
Probably tonite...
Depends. If its secured by a hacker, you need to un-secure it, capture it and then you can spawn.
Well, all I can say guys, we did our job to give this game more structure. I and the staff hope that you guys will enjoy the tremendous changes we threw in. So go spread the word, get the people together. Its time to get excited. ES 3.0 is around the corner.
We are definitly working at more maps as we speak. Two are in line of being developed. We will keep it coming, fellors :)
Yeah, its about done. Give us another month.
Yeah, we made a lot of changes.
For those simulation fans, please let me know what you think once 3.0 is out. Message me through this here. I want to know if you guys like the changes!
its not arcade-ish. test it once it is out. i am sure you will like it.
Oh trust me on this, I was the biggest supporter of the arcade at first. Than I fell in love with our newtonian mode, so I coudln't decide which one I like more. We finally merged both and the outcome of what we will show off in 3.0 is amazing. It is not arcade-arcade. I am sure you guys will enjoy it!
Videos will come up next. Give us a bunch more weeks.
yeah, there is. go check it out. or wait for 3.0 to come.
you can still join the beta team. there are usually positions open.
We are not mass market, since it is a SciFi mod and I am sure not everybody diggs space fights with huge capships, frakkin fast interceptors and intense ground battles inside the ships.
We are part of this contest cause we love the competition of it. We are not in here to win, but to show our baby to more and more people. Cause that is our reward: to see you guys enjoying our game or the games of other indy developers here, who put their heart and soul into their work.
Cause that is what its all about. So if you are realy into this competition and if you want to win this for whatever reason, make a game that the majority enjoys. But if you are making what you would love to play and if you are creating something you believe in, don't focus so much on this competition. Don't focus on any competition. Just focus on your game and get it done! Game development is about the passion of it. There are so many crappy commercial games out there, make something new. Make something different. Make it fun!
All the best,
Marc
PS: Vote for ES ;)
Since Moddb got bigger, those contest are bringing up a controversy. But realy, what a lot of you guys forget, is the whole idea behind this contest.
The titel is "Best Mod". Since I am part of this show by working for Eternal Silence, I see both sides, actually all 3: Fan-side, Moddb, and Mod Side. You guys need to keep in mind, that a good mod isn't only based on the artwork, the gameplay and the webdesign. It is more. It starts with the game idea itself. It goes on with the desicion on what engine you run this game.
Those desicions are critical for the later development and the success of the game. If you pick an old engine, for instance the Max Payne one, it could possible happen that not too many people will notice your game cause they don't have that base-game anymore. Its a crucial desicion. It doesn't say your mod is bad or your desicion is bad - its just not the main market.
So, all that counts for a contest like this. The engine you pick, the PR work you do. Cause after all, if you set your goals on a massive market and develop a game that already has the interest of the public, yeah you get more votes compared to a sub-category game, like Eternal Silence.
