True Stalker

Mod review may contain spoilers

Visually, this mod is absolutely stunning. The improved levels fit right in with the original games.
The use of the Gunslinger addon made the gunplay a thrill to enjoy and made me want to diversify my loadout throughout the playthrough.

There was a lack of anti-radiation artifacts, limiting combinations.
Artifacts also failed to respawn throughout my playthrough, though I don't know if this is a bug or was intentional.

The story is where the mod falls apart however.
When the not-ISG gets introduced, they are presented as this omniscient, omnipotent antagonist who exists only to teleport behind us and knock us out just to laugh in our face. They even get a full blown facility under Army Warehouses, which just... exists there for some reason. No explanation how or when it was built. Same goes with the main antagonist, who just... has the ability to teleport. It is never explained and it just exists to serve as an explanation as to how they are able to be everywhere at any time when it suits them, rendering the antagonists impervious to any and all player actions. If the antagonist takes just one tick of damage from the player, they teleport away.

The most terrible aspect of the story has to be the mid-point of the game where you are... offered the perspective of another character on the plot, to put it in euphemisms. At that point, the entire first half of the game is rendered utterly pointless. That is the moment where the story goes down the drain and you realize just how much of a Mary Sue are the antagonists. For the love of God, at the end of the game, it is revealed they have an entire SCP Foundation level facility beneath Army Warehouses.

Speaking of being unable to do anything... CUTSCENES.
Many. Many. MANY. Cutscenes. There are more cutscenes in the first chapter than the entire three games put together. And they are used to the point of being obnoxious, railroading the player into being knocked out for the purpose of progressing the plot. I saw a reddit thread where someone counted the times you were knocked out for the story to progress. By chapter 8 you were hit in the head at least 25 times because otherwise, how else could the devs force you to watch your enemy monologue for 20 minutes?
