It's been a long way, getting from there to here~♫

I can finally haz mod now too \o\
Have some congratulatory images as a thanks: Imgur.com
Imagine a new and improved sequel to Sins of a Solar Empire that allows for the addition of small and large scale events á la Stellaris.
Send in a fleet with the USS Enterprise NCC-1701, encounter this event and the Enterprise gets a -80% combat efficiency debuff called "Commodore Decker".
You also get a battered and bruised USS Constellation that can either be used to destroy the Planet Killer immediately or if you manage to defeat it with other means you get to keep the ship, potentially repairing it.
A man can dream... for now I'll "just" be happy with anticipation for this mod. ;)
>we have some nifty plans for the Romulans
Fascinatingly enough I have some plans for the Romulans as well!
They involve photon torpedoes and phasers.
>Romulan border
>harmless cluster of comets
Yeah sure... charge disrupters... lock on targets... FIRE!
Lens Flare upgrades.
Every stage grants +1 to style but lvls 3 and 4 (also known as the Double J Energy Conversion Lighting Limitation) will have severe diminishing returns that actually reduce style quite a bit.
It does however grant a definitive increase in tactical efficiency due to the unpredictable maneuvers of your ships.
Courtesy of your blinded crews constantly hitting the wrong buttons.
Just coming by to share the klingon hype, spoiler for Discovery S2 from the 2nd trailer:
And always remember to set disrupters to lowest setting when wanting to board federation scum... "Blast them out of the skies 0.75"
I hope I'll get to enjoy the toughest "No **** given" freighter captains in the galaxy again.
Casually flying past gigantic space weapons of mass destruction.
I assume they'll get what they always get, a couple of well placed phaser beams and a salvo of torpedoes. ;)
I love the part about klingon ships being constructed for battle as a focus.
Especially after reading the Rise of the Federation books where some officers discuss why the Earth design for ships was picked over Vulcan, Andorian or Tellarite designs.
It mainly came down to:
Andorian vessels are purpose built for combat, hence why they are agile and have a lot of front loaded weaponry, but they don't have a lot of space to work with since they're built to be as small as possible, providing as little a target as possible.
Vulcan vessels have amazing warp speeds but their warp cores require a lot of maintenance even having to be placed regularly.
Tellarite vessels are very sturdy but slow and focused on large storage facilities, while also lacking firepower.
Earth vessels are basically in between all of them, hence why Starfleet chose their design for standartisation.
Especially since the government wanted a refocus on the scientific and exploratory missions after the Earth - Romulan war.
2018, another patch, another strike against the Federation's foes, but still haven't seen the Constitution shipyard even once.
Guess I'll have to pummel more Romulans into submission...
Gotta be honest, lighting makes all the difference...
Sovereigns can look damn menacing.

Special mention to the bravest of crews, venturing to battle in Oberths.
I dunno why I enjoy getting a bunch of these ships into battle so much... too much Starfleet Academy in my youth I think.
And then you read the Destiny book series and everything falls into places.
It's like a circle from hell.
First you start playing Armada 3 again, then ST:O joins the mix, and then you remember that you have SFCI on your GOG account.
No screenshots from SFC though, still trying to stop myself from going too deep into the rabbit hole...
Your random maps really love giving me reasons to research and build a strike cruiser early...
2nd or 3rd, can't remember, to be fair I'm currently on a conque-... expedition to find the old shipyard with the classy Starfleet ships so I don't really mind the AI derping. xD
That awkward moment when three of five AI players aren't doing anything :/

Oh well, Galaxy-bros still had fun.

I love it, too, but c'mon, I just want a nice lil' neutral shipyard to mass produce shenanigans. xD
I did try all the specifically crafted maps first though, so maybe that was my mistake.
(There's one with several stars where the middle star has a large number of pirate bases and on the outer sectors there's a lot of cool stuff including 2 pirate shipyards)
The Curry-class has the capture ability.
Some more screenshots from my latest shenanigans.
Still no neutral shipyards though, where did you hide them? :D
Gotta catch 'em all then, any particular maps I should be scavenging around for? :)
Is there a difference between neutral shipyards?
I was hoping for one with Miranda types, but "only" got one with pirate ships.
Trying to fullfill my prophecy of unlimited Mirandas.
It's okay, I made preparations in case that the rest of the Mirror Darkly team pops up.
Damnit Dukat, keep your "friendly" neighbourhood patrols outside of Federation space!
Things to do while waiting for the release:
1. Have a 1v1 duel: Imgur.com
2. Darken the skies with arrows of metal: Imgur.com
3. Have a fun family re-union: Imgur.com
4. Step into the shoes of Carter and McKay: Imgur.com
5. Research the term 'Killzone': Imgur.com
And last but not least:
6. Eat some motherducking potatoes: I.imgur.com
Talking. That's the (old)Picard way.
I think there's a Starfleet regulation of this video having to be posted with every Galaxy-class screenshot:
Only one thing left to say...
TOS Constitution when? *runs*
