How do you skip the tutorial?

There is a pit in the tutorial that I constantly fall into and cannot get out of and can't enable cheats, as the game refuses to launch with them enabled, and I want to play the mod, but currently can't because I have to pass the tutorial first.

Oh no worries. I just thought I was going crazy for a bit, because I was sure I had made comments. And lately with all the stress I'm under, my memory is pretty bad, so thanks for clarifying that.

That is an impressive list of fixes though. I didn't realize that Eday itself had tons of its original problems. I think I played the beta of it, as many of the levels in this one were unfamiliar to me, despite reaching hell in the beta.

Bit too hard for my liking and I can't mitigate the difficulty at all.

Game won't let me play at all, if I set double ammo on, or respawning health. Cheats are disabled and won't let me play with them on. And the layout of the mod in Slade is so confusing that I can't edit anything there either.

Shame, as I wanted to get into it, but its harder than UV+coop monsters solo, so its a hard pass for me.

Interesting mod. Some comments:

-> Can't throw grenades at any time, so often forget to use them. Like G in Brutal Doom.
-> ADS of shotgun causes you to pump then ads again, which is so slow that its pointless. ADS of shotgun in Brutal Doom was much more efficient.
-> Can't manually reload double barrel if you fire one shell.
-> Mod feels a lot darker than Brutal Doom and so the lack of flashlight and the lack of nightvision zoom mod of rocket launcher sucks.
-> Can't undo charge up of plasma rifle alt fire and can't dual wield them like b-doom.
-> BFG doesn't feel as powerful as original doom or b doom so I never use it.

Otherwise it performs better than b-doom and honestly is more fun to play. Keep up the good work!

Further bugs:

1. Two of the secrets, in the 1.1 version, on level 9 push the wrong way. The secret that leads to the gold room area, and the secret that exits right outside of the elevator room.

2. The first secret of level 10 is abyssmally dark. There appears to be "lights" on the ceiling, but none of them are on. Please improve the lighting in here.

3. The boss of level 10, is nearly impossible to kill. A rocket will one-shot you, and the rockets in this game are like twice as fast as standard spear of destiny. The only weapons that have a chance of killing him, is the mg42 upgraded for no reloads and the laserkraftwerk.

4. The truck isn't there in level 11. Its replaced with two Aardwolf signs.

5. There are two enemies that are stuck outside of map limits in level 11. Curiously enough, they have plasma rifles; ie brutal doom style plasma rifles from v17 of the mod I think. Equipped with the 9 key.

6. The 0 key item, that looks very similar to the Wolfenstein (2009) item, has no function. RMB/LMB does nothing.

7. Some more misaligned textures in secrets on maps 12-14. The secret level does work properly though. Though, not sure the point of the silver key in the second secret level.

8. The secret on level 14, that leads to the two extra lives, behind the beds, is pushed from the wrong direction. You are supposed to push it from the opposite side, in the large secret area with all the guards in it. True you can just blow up the beds in this version, but worth mentioning.

9. The mutants in at least Spear of Destiny on Uber are utterly terrifying... Moreso than the bosses are. Many of them carry chainguns or miniguns, and can kill you faster than Shotgun SSs.

10. The secret on floor 15, that accesses the mutant area at the start of the level, is pushed from the wrong side.

11. The Deathknight is unbeatable on Uber. A single rocket will one-shot you at 200% hp and they travel roughly 3x faster than a cyberdemon rocket, so basically impossible to dodge. He won't come out of the battle arena, which is tiny and filled with minigun mutants. And if that wasn't bad enough, he has like 12000 hp. Even with the MG42 firing full auto, I was only able to deal 2000 damage before I finally caught a rocket.

12. I completed all of the levels, and didn't find some of the weapons. In particular, the flamethrower, the ubergeweyr, and the panzershrek in the spear of destiny map pack. I did find a doom-style plasma rifle, chainsaw, and minigun though.

Some balancing ideas:

1. Maybe for a final upgrade for the Shotgun, it gets a magazine reload, rather than a shell reload, or maybe loads two shells at a time (like with Doom 3 shotgun). Also maybe a damage/pellet increase, as it isn't super useful against upgraded enemies up close (ie the female mp40, uber SS, or commandos)

2. Maybe for a final upgrade for MG42, it gets a better scope, for long-ranged engagements.

3. The chaingun isn't very useful. It has low damage, low rate of fire, high inaccuracy, and has extreme trouble at hitting distant targets, unlike the mg42. (EDIT: Apparently there is a Chaingun and a Minigun; the chaingun is the weak one)

4. Maybe crowns (gold) give a slight armor boost. As treasure isn't super useful and there isn't a treasure counter anyway (so you don't know if you missed any until the very end).

5. On a similar theme, crosses could give a slight HP increase, challices a bit more hp, and treasure chests could give you a grenade.

6. Change the color of the screen from Red to something else for the upgraded MP40. Firing the gun, causes the muzzle flare to obscure the screen completely, making it impossible to see through the lens.

Probably have more later.

Cool. Got some more for you:

1. The chaingun (dropped by the commando enemies) has a very low rate of fire. The MG42 and even the upgraded MP40 are far superior to it. As a result I rarely use it, even if it does mean I don't have to reload. (EDIT: Apparently there is a Chaingun and a Minigun. The Chaingun is the weak one)

2. On level 5, the first boss level, the first two secrets are a bit odd. The first one, behind the elevator, has a wall texture mismatch (most of the walls in the secret are a cobblestone, but in the corner is hewn cave with blood spatter), and the second secret, also close to the start, has nothing inside it.

3. Some enemies when killed leave an incorrect corpse. I can't remember offhand which, but I'll try to keep an eye out for it. Usually occurs due to a leg being blown off or being lit on fire.

4. There is an armor system, but you don't find armor naturally in the level, like in Project Totenkopf (by WSJ). Only rarely off "browns". I've never seen armor drop off anyone else.

5. I'm currently playing through on the Uber difficulty, and level 5 of SOD, isn't doable on a single life. There is just too many enemies at the start, too little ammo/health, and very frequently the SS get upgraded to the uber SS, which makes it really hard to kill them quickly.

6. Drones are a neglible threat on lower difficulties. They only act like drones (speedy and pepper you) on difficulties like Uber. Maybe buff them in some fashion? Maybe have a high rate of fire regardless of difficulty?

7. If you blow off the limb of a STG guy, it produces an Imp leg, from brutal doom.

8. Blowing up barrels drops nothing. Like in original BW, you'd often get plates of food, sometimes ammo, more rarely armor.

9. Spear of Destiny maps are definitely not designed for Uber difficulty. Level 6 and 7 has insufficient health pickups. Even with regenerating items, I'm constantly running out of hp.

After playing it for a bit, here are some noticed bugs (not sure if it is with V4.2 or just this):

1. Dieselkraftwerk fires a projectile that just hangs in midair. Enemies and I can walk into it without detonating it and take no damage. It also stays there for the entire level.

2. The shotgun can get stuck in an infinite reload loop. If you have say 1 shell available and 2 shells missing from the shotgun, it will load the 1 shell in and then infinitely pump the shotgun. You can't switch weapons, you can't fire, and you can't aim down the sight of the shotgun. Even saving it and reloading, has it stuck. The only thing that works is getting killed and then using the console resurrect cheat.

3. The third level of this mod, has only 4 secrets. It says there is 6, but even with using noclip and iddt, I can only find 4 secrets. When I go to complete the floor it says I missed treasure, and missed 2 secrets.

4. The first secret level takes you to E2M9. If you complete it, you are now stuck in E2.

5. The freezer weapon is an extreme ammo hog. Firing it once, eats up like 60 ammo and only sometimes freezes targets. Whereas the laserkraftwerk only takes 15 and guarantees killing most weak foes in a single shot.

6. There is a visual glitch with the machine pistol/uzi. When it reloads, it briefly looks like the Colt.

7. The grenade launcher functions like a rocket launcher for the trooper, but as a grenade launcher for me. Also sometimes the grenade will slice off a targets head, rather than explode, which although comical, makes the weapon extremely unreliable. Go to blow up a crowd, and instead it kills one and the rest of the crowd kills you.

8. If you aim down the sights (ads) of the new mg42, you get stuck in ADS. Only switching weapons lets you out of ADS.

Maybe it will allow us to call in a Kodiak-Class Assault Cruiser, or is a requirement for the Orca Dropship.

On the topic of the Orca Dropship, is the code fixed so that they can now land and take off? I ask because many years ago when I used to use TibEd to edit Tiberium Sun, and if I added in the Dropship (or even the Transport) they might be able to take off, but they refused to land.

Interesting thing. What is its purpose? I ask, because, the original GDI gate didn't have a gatehouse. Does it allow you to attach an additional turret to it that normally would be beyond placement?

Are you sure its the vanilla middle Egypt, or perhaps your settings are set up such that the Tacitus Archive is invisible. If you set your Models to High, that should make it visible (also yes, this is an old post, but for those who might download this later I thought I'd mention it)

For steam: Go to your Steam Library, right click on cnc3 and go to:
Properties -> Launch Options -> type -ui into the field; only -ui nothing else.

Then place the mod in the correct folder, launch the game, and a new window will pop up, navigate to mods and enjoy.

Did you stick the mod in the correct folder? Correct folder (if on Windows) is C:\Users\"Insert name of User"\My Documents\Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars\Mods\

If the folder "mods" does not exist, create a new folder called mods. Place the extracted mod (the full directory; should read TiberiumEssence) into the mods folder. Then when you startup the CNC3 UI thing, if you go to the mods section it should now show up.

How do you edit unit files?

Whenever I open up a .BIG file I get all these .data files, which I'm assuming are the units. How do I convert these .data files into files that can be actually edited?

Mobile sensor aerial doesn't make much sense to me either. However he could also be asking for the Mobile Sensor from Tiberium Sun that GDI had, that could deploy and detect underground units within its radius.

Talking about deployment, why can't the NOD artillery deploy and automatically attack anything within range, similar to how its artillery worked in Tiberium Sun?
