Both the gloves and the sleeve have been adjusted since this screenshot. The gloves now use our dedicated fabric shader and are no longer shiny, and the sleeves have been completely remodeled.
But, I just love this screenshot. Regardless of the changes, I just had to put it up. Couldn't easily recreate it.

12 of 'full' skin shader characters on screen brings a 5970 to it's knees (<10 FPS).

You could also say they're wizards.
That's why we have an additional options menu. If you don't like one of the effects, it's very easy to disable it.
It's too expensive to throw it around. We use it on story characters and for cutscenes, and then there's two versions of it: Cheap and 'Full'.
The textures on that wall are really muddy MrTwo. You need to fix that.

Yes and no. All of these shaders were done the good old fashioned way. Future shaders will probably at the very least start life in the editor.
We'll be releasing the Source Code for all of it. City 17 does have the shader editor installed & enabled, but as of right now none of our shaders are powered by it.
The player actually did just leave a dark parking garage. And BakonGuy is correct. City 17 is crumbling to the ground. There's plenty of smoke and dust in the air to produce the rays.
It'll be worth the weight.

You guys are overlooking the screen blur around the crossbow!
You've got to see them in motion to appreciate them. (Heat Haze + Smoke + Flare)
And keep in mind, they're still a WIP. (And the screen we chose is just awful.)
