I had the same problem. There is a ladder at the far corner of the factory right opposite the open shaft. You will need a box to reach the ladder.

Love the mod so far, but I am stuck in the factory. What are you suppose to do in there? Move the barrels into the containers, or is it the boxes or the mists?
