I suggest re-installing - download the files again (in case they're faulty), and then try to install 1.0e and then patch 1.0f.

Different map versions to the server is often because of a faulty install.

Did you install the versions in the correct order?
You need to install 1.0e and THEN the 1.0f patch. In that order.

The mod requires Source SDK Base 2007 which comes with almost any Source game.
You can download it under Steam > Library > Tools.

Last update was that the developers are aiming for the third quarter of this year, 2011.
Don't take that as set in stone though.

They will be in FAS 2.0.

Do you have Source SDK Base 2007 available for download?
FAS needs Source SDK Base 2007 to run - if you can download it, you should be good to go.

I honestly don't know how Desura works, so can't help you there. You can try downloading the mod manually from: Firearms-source.com

There are a good few servers that are already updated to 1.0e.
Check if they have 1.0e written on the server names, best way to know if a server is updated.

You most likely don't have the latest patches installed. Try installing using the full installer for 1.0d.

1.0e should be out very soon though, so I'd recommend just waiting for now. :)

Installing Firearms: Source

Game Requirements: You must have Steam installed and own any Source engine game that allows you to download the Source SDK Base 2007. If you do not own a Source engine game and are low on cash, you can buy Buy Half-Life 2 Deathmatch on Steam for $5.00.

Installation:
Download the game from one of our many mirrors on the Downloads page.
Download the Source SDK Base 2007 - located under "Tools" on Steam.
Install or extract the game in your SourceMods directory (..\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\).
Restart Steam if it is currently running. If everything worked, you will see Firearms Source on your games list.

Yeah, you only need to have a Source game, to run the Source SDK Base 2007 to run the mod.
