Seriously? Well, in any case I wish they'd just release it. I'd throw my money at them right now if it appeared on the store page.
THIS is how you make a game. It's gems like these that make sifting through all of the free trash on Moddb worth it.
Lose the full screen image jump scare and I'd say the experience is flawless.
Oh and also get rid of the 'K' button. When I first played it I misunderstood that the hand with a K meant you needed a key and I pressed 'K' expecting the door to open. Apparently 'K' is the BREAK EVERYTHING button. You'll teleport a short distance and then you can't interact with anything at all.
Holding the W key while you show me things you think are totally "imaginative" is not my idea of fun.
Lack of interactivity and thought is not new and different. It's boring.
GUITAR HERO! **** YEAH!
Oh. I mean, scary ****.
Very well done! The atmosphere is built up perfectly, and the environment looks fantastic! Protip: if you want to make it out alive, don't look back hahaha. Hope to see more from you!
No, actually a couple comments ago he just blamed Canadians and Americans for breaking the download. Not sure why he thinks he can just play the victim role all of a sudden.
Pour quoi est-ce que vous detestez les americains? J'ai pris quatre ans de la cours de francais. Nous ne sommes pas mauvais personnes.
I've imported a couple actually, so it's not impossible. You're right though, their unique Collada format is an atrocity.
That being said, I love how you can make as many npcs as you want based on the brute AI, plus you can change all the important things like walking speed, search music, and sounds played. Their entity editor is fantastic.
I agree, I thought his voice was fine. Great video!
I'm personally not surprised. They modified the Collada format so much (or maybe it's just that inconsistent in the first place) that you have to use Maya versions 8 through 2008. I'm a 3ds Max user, and, even though I have the same version of the Collada exporter, files exported from 3ds max will have major skeleton problems. This makes it only useful for static props.
As for Maya, animations and skeleton are perfect if you use version 3.05B of the exporter, but Amnesia's scale is very messed up, so you will always end up with a model that is far too big. Because it has a skeleton, this causes scaling to be disabled in the Amnesia model editor. Not to mention you will have the same problem as above if you are using Collada 3.05C.
I'm still debating on whether it's worth it to learn Maya after using 3ds Max for so many years. Importing 3ds max models to Maya causes strange vertex artifacts only visible in Amnesia, so that is not viable for Max users.
It's very obvious why there isn't any custom content.
Man, I had to re-read that 5 times before I realized you were struggling to spell tourettes.
Hate to disappoint you, but in a real zombie apocalypse it's not going to be raining 24/7. I'm sure there's going to be a wide variety of maps, and there's really no reason for there not to be a day map. Look at Left 4 Dead 2. It has plenty.
I find it kind of funny how you list what your mod features and how cool it will be on the general page, but on the help wanted page you have the job listed coder and you pretty much just copy and pasted it in there.
why is it that people still comment on this mod, even though nobody is actually playing?
