Try making a new world, sometimes the worlds that are pre generated seem to corrupt.
A lot of bugs to be expected being an Alpha, but try turn off cave generation when making a new world
Pretty much this, kids now days seem to awfully want to make comparisons
And then you played it, and realised you were an idiot
Hey AlwaysGeeky,
Finally got around to buying the game after following it for a fair while now on Desura and after playing for a little bit, I thought I would make a few first impression comments about Vox.
First of all I have to say that I love the overall cheerful theme that Vox seems to have going for it, with the bright and colourful little voxels. The whole game seems to have this happy vibe to it, even the monsters seem quite cheerful and personally, I find it pretty cool. The standout point for me though, aside from the potential, is the custom items and characters you can make. Despite being not very creative, I did enjoy creating my own character from scratch and the interface was surprisingly not frustrating, which I assumed it would be due to the nature of 3D depth and height in video games. The headings, sliders and buttons seemed to be all over the place though, morphing together and becoming unclickable, made worse by mucking around with the screen size, but this is obviously a minor alpha UI glitch. Frame rates and crashing were pretty bad on my fairly high end PC, but it certainly isnt unusual to see this in a sandbox Alpha, so it didn't worry me too much. Can't wait to see whats instore for Vox later on in the development.
It is also really cool that you have such an involvement in the Vox community, replying to comments and whatnot. Also really awesome to see you have put forward yourself as a positive and happy person, and I think it comes out in Vox.
Don't blame the developer that your hardware can't run video games when it is so low end. Games in the Alpha funding are early in the development phase of a games lifecycle, and in most cases recommended specs are hard to determine. You can't say the developer should have warned you, that is incredibly selfish. The fact that your laptop is ancient should have been a good enough warning that most games won't run. Point is, it is not the developers fault your computer is bad.
There's plenty to do with the current version of Towns, but it is still under early development
You should contact Desura support on that matter, sounds like an issue on their part
Yeah we all do lol, It is coming however, probably on actual release
True, but I think he means when the game will be released legit after the beta/alpha
I think this will be a good change, this genre of game (personally) should be very hard.
If it still hasn't showed up, consider contacting Desura support
So in other words you want the game to be easier, you could always look for some mods.
