latecomer to Modding for Deus Ex; mapping and modeling
here are some of the hvac roof pieces from my prefab package.
the idea here is to enable one to make a mini-map situated on a roof top. this is a really rough setting i made quickly just to check they all imported cleanly without crashes or major issues. i imagine it could easily become a strain on the engine if too many or too complex lighting is used, or simply too much geometry in a small area. haven't tested that far yet. one can layout the intended route, set npc patrols and positions, use the vent system to allow alternate routes, reward exploration or difficult route/jumping puzzel. the collision isn't perfect on these.. so ideally laid out to minimize player exploitation of npc ai.
this is the roof set, which will be expanded with some more modular sections to allow linking together, and some simpler varients, these are all variations of the curvy section. also to come are some ceiling and wall mounted interior sections and additional vents.
i will probably change the texture because the newvision tex is too highly detailed, this needs something simpler
