Adding the minning ships is a good idia , you can add the strategy of 'piracy ' by adding not just belts of asteroids in the maps but mining ships collecting and not being controlled by the player and giving 1000 credit for each mining ship destroyed so when enemy player jump in with one or few ships knowing that is impossible to engage the station but looking to destroy the mining ships in order to get rich , the defender will have to protect the mining ships .

i think its better start with Gallente or Amarr ;)

ya this mod is hard i played as avelorn and i have to say seeing an endless naga army decending upon my city its frightning even if i am holding i just cant do anything else sine resources are limited ,there is allies that turned on me (ellyrion and saphery )and this is just medium difficulty,so take it easy on us guys :D

I just checked and i think its not the same issue , my AI doesnt work at all with all faction , GC compain and skirmish
