those are definitely anti aircraft arty pieces and looks like the RPKs on the barrels were for some sort of very crude targeting. guess those loaded the RPKs with tracers.

this idea is still alive today. look at the extra armor that the us army strykers have. looks like a grate held about 2 feet from the hull to stop HEAT rounds.

this thing looks cool and all but it is completely impractical. it would nave have been built period and if it had been built somehow it would have been a sitting duck for any fighter/bomber in the area. its a huge target and its foolish to think that it would have been armored heavily enough over the entire hull to stop it from being damaged.
