It is kind of logical if you take the medieval chivalry code in mind. Nobles are worth considerable amount of money so captured nobles are held for ransom. Furthermore a noble prisoner needs to be treated with respect and kept save. If a noble was to be executed it was a great atrocity... This lasted until agencourt....

Am curious about that as well.... Small update i would expect soon.... But if it is a full one it might take
Atm i returned to 2.0 cause i feel 2.1 is not what i expected... I hope and believe 2.2 might fix it
