So I picked this game up recently, played it through with my uncle on the coop. I played it like back in 2008 or something, thought it was cool then.

Playing it now, I see that armor is completely useless.

Where in the game files is armor located? I'd love to make the armor actually matter, as well as add armor to the head......

I get armor isnt magical, but good lord....it stops nothing.....modern armor can stop some shots, but not in this game....there is no differnce between 0 or 10 armor...

The reason we dont see one shots is because tanks do actually have a "health bar". If you look in the .def file of each tank, the "Mass" section down near the bottom, the part that says like {"mass 67900"}, that is the "health" of the tank. I dont understand how it all works, but I read somewhere that was the case. Then there is some interaction between the shell of the heavy tank vs light tanks and such. In my own Men of war mod, I have it where if the tank has green pen, it pretty much is a 1 shot on medium tanks, but heavy tanks seem to take hits and die after a few hits. Maybe if I lowered the "mass" of my heavy tanks, they would die just like my medium tanks.

@Colt, if you wanna see about a "tank health" mod, go download and play around in the "Tanks of War" mod by Jonvigo. He has it where tanks do in fact have health bars. How he did it, idk, but they legit have "Vitality" which makess the game play exactly like WOT/Planetside2.

If you look at Colt's Sunderer file, you look at the Sunderer.def and in there you see the spot where it has a long list of (crew_human) place gunner and all that? then it has like 9 seat spots, that is where the seats are at.

actually 40mm Grenades have significantly LESS Power then a hand grenade. 40mm Grenades are very small, Hand grenades are like lobbing large potatoes at someone. 40mm are quite small in comparison.

DLd your mod and the buildings with the interior are HUGE in the base Men of War, idk if they are the proper size in MOWAS2, but in MOW, I shrink them down to like 0.75 scale and they are about right, but they are HUGE lol.

I am in the process of updating the maps I made with your mod though. Going to overhaul pretty much the entire base haha.

Yup, just basically look at a base MOWAS2 breed/mp file and see what its got there. The Rifle 1, 2, 3 is so you can have 3 different soldiers in 1 squad. I assume it can go further.

My own mod doesnt have engineers that lay mines and stuff in the custom faction I made.

The naming is only a problem in MP, since if you dont name the soldier "sturmovik" the game will not recognize him and it will not work, even if you make a squad with them. The game is particular about that in MP.

As for the Mana in vehicle folder, idk what might happen. I just put all my cannons in the cannon folder to avoid any potential issues. This game is very particular.

So THATS what Enumerator is? I thought enumerator was the number on the side of the vehicle.

Also, for the "Heavy" guy with the rocket launcher, you can add him in as a number of different file names. Should maybe start with "sturmovik", that being the game's name for the top notch infantry guys in the game. You could also call him "mgun 1", 2, 3 and so on.

Also, the MANA turret, put it in a "cannon" folder, not vehicle. "cannon" being all the stationary cannons, mgs, and so on. It might be wonky if put in the "vehicle" folder.

But your next update is looking better then the last several patch notes that ive seen in big name company games.

The construction changes being my top fav. The ability to finally use the bloody buildings will be awesome. Going to have to redo my base map alot.

Id love the NC to get the snow camo. I always liked it in PS2. RoughRider helmet with the NC Heavy composite armor and mah EM6, which they made look stupid in game now.

In my Planetside 2 missions using this mod, it took the TR 30 minutes and several hundred soldiers to NOT take the base from me. They were close to it, had my guys holed up in the base, which is the basis for the 2nd mission, but they didnt take it. I changed the mission around a little, wonder how different it will play.

Lol, I am going to go way out on a limb and ask, can you extract the BFRs from PLanetside 1 and make them work? I always wanted to drive those around in game but never got to. It would be fun to drive them here.

Sure, he could do that, but Men of War isnt limiting like that, you can change it up how ever you want. If your Medic drops his gun, you can pick up an LMG laying around and use it. Men of war is awesome like that.

Harrasser armor, yes something we can edit. Right now it just says "Armor_medium" args: 1.0 or something. I tried to edit the armor and stuff myself, but kept getting a "Define" found error for like "Armor_Car" and "Armor_medium".

Currently Harassers take infinite amounts of small arms fire, but pretty much get raped vs AT stuff. Not saying that isnt how it should be, but it just makes them kinda derpy to play around with. I havent made any missions using them vs armor.

As for MAX suits, yeah, just as an infantry man with alot of health, I think maybe 2000 would be good. Maybe if you can find a way to add armor to that, so they get the effects of armor added onto that 2000 health would be nice.

As for the weapons, the TR is a Minigun, NC is a Shotgun and the VS is a laser rifle type thing.

Also, what is up with the Facilitywall props? It seems they dont really offer much protection. I built a set of walkways towards the top of some of the walls and its like the upper section of the wall offers like little protection. Bullets legit penetrate it.

And that "Bunkerext" prop, the railings and walls on that have huge invisible walls that make using them not very effective, since guys cant shoot off them very well.

The Galaxy Prop and alot of the vehicles seem to have huge invisible bubbles around them, cant even get close to them.

As for the Harrasser, is there any way you could add some actual armor values for it?

Also, is there anyway at somepoint you could add the MAX suits as an infantry soldier? They would be fun to play with.

That will be absolutely fantastic, then this mod will really come into it's own. I made a mission which works well, which has me defending a firebase, I called "Firebase: Falco". I have a number of buildings on it, but they are just bricks. I might redo the base and add more buildings once we can go inside. That will really make the mod epic.

I didnt edit any of the files for the tank, I just copy pasted and edited armor and inventory lines in the .DEF. Also, the reason it does it from what I can gather, is the files and I guess the way the game reads said numbers, are not the same across all the games. I think it probably has something to do with the way the game does the graphics in MoWAS2, since they obviously did something to vastly improve them.

Ok, imma try to get the images, but linking them from photobucket isnt working. The problem is the Turret basket and entire turret is hovering above the hull, not even in contact with it.

Id love the addition of the barricades and more props and defenses. If your wondering which barricades, they are around the long bridge outpost on Esamir, the name of the base escapes me, I havent PS2d in like 2 years. But the barricades are all around the cap point.

They would be a great addition for making bases look more like actual PS2 bases.

Also, get the vehicles working. Add guns to the Galaxy and stuff. Keep up the amazing work on this mod.

THis is awesome, PS2 was my favorite shooter, Men of War is my fav RTS. Combining them is amazing.

I have taken your PS2 mod, converted it for use in Men of War 1, since I dont have MoWAS2, and am in the process of building a campaign in the GEM editor with it. Ive got 1 mission completed and am working on tweaking the difficulty a little.

Also, your Vanguard tank needs help, the turret is like sticking up way to high above the hull, the rest of the tanks look good. Keep up this mod, its awesome.
