Welcome to my mod. Since I've been playing Vegas 1 & 2 I've heard people complain that certain weapons in the game just aren't realistic. So I researched the weapons in the game and found... They were right! While I haven't adjusted characteristics like the steadiness (or lack thereof) of the weapons when being held or fired (yet, I just might later), I have changed just about everything else. WARNING!!! This mod increases the realism of the game, i.e. it is even more difficult. But since the game has been out for a while I thought people might be up for a little more of a challenge. I adjusted all the weapons to have characteristics closer to the real ones. Most weapons now have slightly better penetration. Weight and fire rate is also now proportional to the real weapon's. I took away unlimited pistol ammo. Movement speed is now proportional to the weapon's weight. Ammo carrying ability is also more realistic. Weapons feature realistic fire select options. Realistic silencers & more.

I am still around and I will try and post more often in the future. If you haven't played Vegas 2 try it with my mod. It works on the box version and with STEAM. For STEAM just install the mod in C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\rainbow six vegas 2\KellerGame\Config. The game will run pretty good on most laptops too. So it's great for LAN parties. Whether you like to put on heavy armor and carry the big guns or keep it fast and light and run and gun with the pistol, this mod will use the tactics that suit you best!

You should really consider making the enemies have less health. It honestly seems like they can kill me with shots to the chest easily with an M11, but when I use an MP5N it takes an entire magazine to kill someone

A little strange that the mags aren't the standard mags by default, but I can fix that myself. Other than that, great mod.

Excellent mod, but I made a couple changes:
MK23 - 12 round standard, none high capacity mag
92FS - 15 round standard, none high capacity mag
MP5 - 30 round standard (15 rounds in commando's mag?),
none high capacity mag
MP7 - 40 round standard, none high capacity mag
MP9 - 32 round standard, none high capacity mag
M11 - 32 round standard, none high capacity mag
Scorpion - 20 round standard, none high capacity mag
M468 - 30 round standard, none high capacity mag
M3 - 8 round standard (why 7?), none high capacity mag
XM-26 LSS - 5 round standard, none high capacity mag

If you want so you must edit files:
DefaultWeaponsConfig, KellerWeaponsConfig,
PCKellerWeaponsConfig and change the value for
the concrete weapon: m_iNormalMagSize
and m_iHighCapacityMagSize and also change
m_eAttachmentOption1=EAttachment_HighCapacityMag
on m_eAttachmentOption1=EAttachment_none.

I did consider making all the guns to use the highest capacity mags possible, but one feature I liked about the game was being able to use gun add-ons. So, yes, many of those mags are actually civilian sized mags, but using them on a secondary weapon or simply to save space and weight would not be a stretch. Glad you like the mod and that you were able to customize it to match your personal taste.

The problem is you can't have for example a scope with the high capacity mags, which is nonsense. Having the highest mag by default is a way to avoid this problem.
Another thing that I would like to point out if you're still here is that the shotguns are in general way to powerful even at long distance: the weapon that kill us the most in terrorist hunt in coop is always the spas-12. It kills in one shoot even at about 20m with full armor. I don't know if it's realistic or not but it's quite annoying.
But still way better than the original game.

Many people feel that the shotguns are overpowered but I've checked them again and again and they match closely to real life. 20m isn't exactly long distance. A shotgun is deadly farther than that. You're getting shot in the head. And a shotgun makes that easier. The way the game works is no matter what if you get hit in the head, you die. If you shoot a guy with class 4 armor at point blank range in the chest with the shotgun in my mod he won't go down. I've tested this. In real life this would probably knock the guy down and he would be in serious pain and injured badly, but unfortunately in this game the NPCs are either alive and well, or dead. Glad you still like the mod!
