headshots are your friend! (until YOU get one :X but thats live xD)
and yeah, enemies have aimbots, the invisible ones are hard AF if you are new to this (and when my memory serves me well: they ignore armor when they hit you, ALL of it! :X) and overall, the game likes to fu*k you over hard!
but: thats the fun of it :D
its an "old" game, and those where harder overall (and this game even more so ^^), and thats a big part of what makes the STALKER series great! :)

aaand, the difficulties are marginal at best. not like those in new games, where you get rly OP, or the enemies cannon fodder!

train yourself to hit the head, like one or two shots, and dont rush underground levels with invisible enemies ^^ even today i crawl through them xD

yeah i know, the start of the game is like throwing someone who cant swim into a deep sea of icewater, but when you get the hang of it: one of the best games ever :)

its a game in which most of the players dont get to see the end credits.
and like i said: thats great! its not here to take you by the hand and show you a bunch of cutscenes with some easy fighting in between until the end! :)

edit: did not rly get into LA:DC, but the first level, i had no real problem with weapon condition and jaming. hmmmm. but: use single headshot mode, and you dont have a problem anymore! not much, anyway ^^ and no problems with ammo
crouch and lean are good for not getting hit too! :)

i hoped i named it good enough to not get lost in the addons section :( but now you know ^^

its just a .zip file you have to unpack/copy&paste; the folder (windows has an unpack programm integrated, just click on the file if you dont have an unpacker like winrar oder 7zip, should do the trick) into the "STALKER LA DC" folder, after that, it should look like this:
"[your install partition like C, or D]:\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Lost Alpha DC\gamedata\config\lost_alpha" and the "la_skills.ltx" file in there, and you are done!
now you can edit it with your text file editor/notepad/word :)

it is not rly extra, its already in a .db file, and if you paste the file into the right folder (/gamedata/config/lost_alpha) it overrides just the one in the .db file at the start of the game, so those infos get loaded instead.

you tried it without it, and it worked?
with a clean install, without any other 3rd party mods/mods you can install as optional with the LA:DC installer?
did you start a new game, after puting the file in?

maybe try disabling every other mod than:
extended weather
free A-life
PRM Wapon Pack
Closed Optical Sights
Darker Nights
Duty Brutal Colors
Russian Voice Acting

thats what i installed. if it does not work with that, and it worked before, i have no clue what the problem is!

what i changed?

satiety_health_v HP reg from eating/not beeing hungry
thirsty_health_v HP reg from drinking/not beeing thirsty
health_restore_v HP reg from natural healing

i set everything to 0, but wrote the vanilla stats right next to it, so you could change it from that if you like :)

ah, cool, i just made it fast so its out there, not rly looking around the launcher!
nice to know the devs did incorporate something in their mod from me *cough* *cough* :D

BUT: its a toggle, and with my file you can change the sensitivity of the bob, like half, or third, or everything you like, and not only just ON/OFF :D
so you need it if you are not an ON/OFF person ^^

im not even aware that there is another 1.4005 version out there, not beeing the LA:DC version, but... ^^

and tested it like: doing nothing to the game, no changing options, no file from me, see if it works, restart the game with the file, and again, doing nothing else.

i know, its like asking if you did a restart of your computer first if there is any weird problem to test if its gone after that ^^

did you change the numbers?
maybe they are too much, idk, like i said, thats a first for me oO
delete one or two "0" zeros, and look if that causes the problem.

but... thats all i can say. idk what the connection could be if you did nothing that changed anything to make it look like that, because nothing else is changed. only the carry weight numbers.

no, this is just for running, walking and limping around headbobbing.
a little hint is the picture above! thats all this file changes.

i used this to unpack the .db files:

and after that, you can change every .txt/.ltx file you want.
but the folder structure has to be intact, so for example: if you look at the effectors.ltx from this download, you can see its in gamedata\config\misc just where to find it after you unpacked the .db files. everything you change goes in the "gamedata" folder and in the same subfolders it came out of.
you dont need to save all the unpacked files, just save the ones you changed!
the game loads those in the gamedata folder over the ones in the .db files.

after you unpack, its time to search those files you want to edit, and no, i cant help you with that. never changed anything besides headbobb, and carryweight! ;(

maybe look at similar mods for what you want to do, and look at the files they changed, so you know what files you need.

you are right, but you can tweak the numbers to your liking, maybe 10-20% more than vanilla.
but if you are ok with the numbers the devs think they are the right ones, use them :)
thats the nature of balancing changing mods, not everyone likes them ^^

never cheated anything besides money in STALKER.

for more info about cheating with cheat engine, you have to go to the corresponding websites!
or maybe someone did already a cheat table for that, but again: you have to search for that yourself.

you could just change the file i provided with the values a skill point would give if you would use one on a stat.

if my memory serves me well:
there is one guy on a balcony/roof above the general (?! idk anymore where his exact position is, but i think it was there) inside the yard. and you can get to him by climbing a ladder from outside.

do you mean by any chance the head bobb effect? the shaking camera when you move?
if so: its in the "effectors.ltx" in "config\misc" in the "gamedata.db0" file as "[bobbing_effector]", thats why your command does nothing.
you can get the file here Moddb.com for the 1.4005 extended 1.3 version, and here Moddb.com for the normal 1.4005 version. they are set at 0, but you can change them. original stats are in the description!

its just a game, and a SP on top of that, noone gets hurt in the process!
you dont have to use it, and you certainly dont have to be offended by a mod for a mod ppl just want to enjoy the way they want ;)
