Excellent trailer, but I think the fact that it says "director's cut trailer (2011)" in the description is a little misleading. I thought this might in fact be a trailer for a new director's cut version of the game coming in 2011. Either way, I have already re-played this mod and I very rarely do that with mods. Good job once again.

The exact same thing happens to me. I'm running Windows 7. I tried running Half-Life in different compatibility modes but no luck. I have several other older Half-Life 1 mods and they all work fine.

Someone else mentioned it, but I just thought I'd clarify a bit on what I think is a bug. Every time a new map loads, the Colt Python seems to alternate between dual wield and left hand single wield. Not a big deal, but it's the only real bug I've found so I thought I'd mention it. I haven't gotten any other dual wield weapons yet so I don't know if it happens with all of them. Other than that I'm having a lot of fun playing this mod. Love the extra gore. :) One tip that people might find useful, you can change the brightness of the game by pressing F12. The gamma can be changed through the settings menu but the brightness can only be changed with F12. The default brightness setting for me was way too bright for some reason so if anyone else is having that problem just try F12.

Ah, the original zombie mod. One of my all-time favorite mods, if not favorite games. A true classic. This is what got me into mods. Still play through it sometimes around Halloween. Rest in piece They Hunger: Lost Souls.

Not bad, but a T-virus capsule would fit better for Resident Evil 3.

Just found out about the co-op. I'll definitely be playing it solo the first time around since it's scarier that way, but co-op will definitely be fun too. I think it's interesting that a lot of people played Afraid of Monsters Director's Cut with unofficial co-op through Sven Co-op because they thought it was too scary to play alone. :) Keep up the great work. I'm more excited about this mod coming out than I am about any retail games right now.

Please, please don't use bunny man and slender man... I just did research on both of them... Slender man is a friggin' internet meme from Something Awful. His story is 100% fake, created on the internet only two years ago. There is absolutely no history or myth involved with him. There are no sightings or reports on him because, again, he is a complete figment of a forum poster's imagination. A true myth would be something like the Jersey Devil, where it started with people who actually claimed to have seen it in real life. As for bunny man, it counts as a real myth/urban legend, but it's just a very lame one. I think the Jersey Devil would be a much better choice.

...Okay so I'm just gonna go ahead and say it and risk being anally raped as a noob. What do I do after the experiment goes wrong and I'm stuck in darkness? If I have to do something in console I'm not exactly up on my Half-Life 1 console commands. All I wanted was some prune juice... :(

Slender man? Bunny man? I must have missed those two in mythology class... Never heard of them in my life. I'm confused by the initial selection of mythical monsters here. When you say monsters from mythology you tend to think of monsters that have stood the test of time, like those from just about any ancient culture in the world. (Not just Greek and Roman, but there are plenty of cool monsters from Asian and European mythology as well.) The headless horseman was a literary figure, Anne Boleyn a historical figure, (historical as in she was real, myths aren't generally considered to be real) and I guess slender man and bunny man must either be really obscure or really recent myths 'cause I've never heard of either of them. If bunny man is some kind of recent internet spawned myth I would recommend staying the hell away from those. Mothman is good though, it's modern but a great example of an enduring modern myth.

If I remember correctly if you set up an anti-grenade box it will send out a rocket to take out any grenades that NPC's or turrets might be firing. The anti-rocket box does the same thing for rockets. They are almost useless however because any grenades or rockets being fired are usually being aimed at scientists.

Just tried out the newest download, thanks a lot for putting it up. Unfortunately, there are two issues that I noticed. In the original SSH some weapons had three fire modes rather than just two. For example, primary fire for the crossbow fired it, secondary fire zoomed in, and the third fire mode, called tertiary fire, selected what kind of ammo you wanted to use. In the Steam version there is no way to set what key you want for tertiary fire in the configuration menu. Is there a way to do it in console? If so, could someone post the exact command? The other thing is that when you kill a scientist, it no longer gives a death notification for them in the upper left corner of the screen. This isn't a big deal, but some of them were kinda funny, saying how they died in weird ways. Other than that, thanks for uploading this new file.

I'm looking forward to this mod being integrated into Steamworks. One of the biggest problems with this mod has been the lack of players. Adding it to Steamworks will hopefully give it some more publicity.

At first I didn't like the sound of dual wielding because I thought it would make the game too actiony, but after seeing how it works in the videocast, I really love it. Dual wielding a gun and flashlight is definitely helpful, and I think I'll be dual wielding a knife and gun a lot. You can take out weak enemies with the knife and stronger ones with the gun all without switching. Or you could fire a few shots with the gun and finish the enemy off with the knife to conserve ammo. Great feature guys.
