Wait, so if you had bought the Xbox version of Mass Effect 2, you would have asked Bioware for a PS3 version when they released it later? Do you expect Nintendo to give you a free copy of Ocarina of Time on the Wii since you bought it on the N64 years ago?
Here is where we are coming from...
Over the past 18 months, we have added a ton of additional content, gameplay features, tweaks/balancing, suggestions by fans, and even ensured that both our Steam and non-Steam players would be able to all play together. We gave away nearly 100 free copies of the game to Desura users and launched at half-off the regular price last December. We took part in a bundle where people could get multiple indie games at a discount price.
I don't understand how we're being unfair to you; we've done far more than you ought to expect from a $10 video game purchase.
We support Indie Developers. We support Starbound. We support Trine 2. We support Towns. We support Secrets of Grindea. We also support companies you've never even heard of because they're still working on their first game, and they have contacted us for advice.
Yes, we're an indie developer, but we're also gamers like you. Yes, Indie Developers often give away free copies of their game, but we should not expect nor demand this from them. Instead, we should support them and encourage them, because - quite frankly - they need us more than we could possibly know.
If you like their games, you should buy their games.
If you like our games, you should buy our games.
Rest assured, like many other indie companies, we'll make sure you get your money's worth.
You can add the game to your Steam Library and there will be virtually no difference between the Steam version and the non-Steam version.
You can play with Steam users with the non-Steam version as well.
Some details released about our upcoming Expansion!
We are lost like you are! =P
Open "Printers" and set a default anyways. There should be a "XPS Writer" or "Windows Printer" in there.
We are already hard at work.
Thanks for the support! We appreciate every fan.
No. Steam and Desura purchases are separate. The game is the same for both and you can even play with one another.
That all depends on our Steam user support. =)
Jason and I work 3 jobs between the two of us. We don't really have time to continue working on game projects unless Wanderlust does well for us. *crossing our fingers*
We aren't currently giving out Steam keys for early adopters. Ideally we would have launched the game on Steam but unfortunately it did not work out that way.
Still, non-Steam users still have full access to all the features of the game, and can even play with Steam users in multiplayer. =D
You are no longer required to be online in order to play the game single player if you have already authenticated your account.
Chucklefish is publishing Wanderlust: Rebirth to Steam on July 27th!
We got something in the works that should bring our game a lot of attention (as well as increase the value of the game). We'll be sure to let our friends at indiedb know as soon as we're able.
If we made money like Ubisoft, we'd be happy to let you play offline! =P
Not only do we verify your purchase with your login, we alao have integrated features like high scores, achievement tracking, renown stats, global chat, online player profiles and matchmaking.
With all that said we still ARE considering an offline mode. We consider every suggestion made by players of our game!
This may change in the future but for now, that's just how it is. =)
If you get the bundle and want to activate Wanderlust on Desura, send us an email with your Desura username and key to firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll make your key a Desura key also!
Thanks for the support, guys!
If you purchase this bundle, email us at email@example.com and we'll make your key into a Desura key (if you want, of course)!
Bundle at www.indiefort.com is live! Go check it out if you are at all interested in Wanderlust: Rebirth; it is a fantastic bargain!
Had to get it! Looking forward to playing Hack, Slash, Loot! RPGs, ho!
Thanks for the catch! I got it!
Try downloading it directly from our site. Also, if you're having trouble I would be happy to help you get it going. Send me a message and I'll get you on Skype so we can troubleshoot.
Look for some news coming down the pipeline for Wanderlust in the coming weeks! =D
You could go into the game folder and delete the "Profile" and "Characters" folders. That should do it.
If you downloaded on Desura, I'm not certain how to open up the game folder.
A very positive review of Wanderlust: Rebirth!! Awesome!
Chance to win a free key for Wanderlust: Rebirth here!
This game looks super fun! I'm downloading it now... I'll have to try and get the rest of Team Wanderlust playing this gem! =D
2% chance to find random treasure chests in the world!
Enemy casting meteor on the players!
A cool moment in the game, where you do a little something outside of the typical combat gameplay. Pickpocket a poor "sick" bandit who has passed out near the bars of the jail.
Highranch outskirts. Highranch is a village/town found in the Trenchland Plains, where the Fighter characters hail from.
A screen capture of the world map as players travel from one map to the next.
Cleric using her "Sanctuary" holy spell to knock enemies away from all around her.
The is the new "Battle Tactics" skill that the Fighter starts with. If an enemy is defended 3 times, they become a target for the Fighter, which grants damage bonuses to the player and also makes it so the enemy will miss their next successful attack on the player (which then removes the targeted status).
Now, the game will remember the last profile you load as well, so you can get into the game with just a couple key presses! =)
Thanks for the feedback, and I hope to see you online!
Check out the new patch! =P
I like all of these suggestions. I'll see if I can "trim the fat" on the next patch.
Thank you for the feedback, Seiseki!
Oh this looks awesome. I can't wait to try it! Keep it up!
We, Team Wanderlust, voted for you guys! You're game looks awesome!
Good luck in the competition!
We have a hard time even getting responses from indie websites!
For example, Indiegames.com has ignored ALL of our emails. =(
Everyone here at IndieDB should go spam them until they try our game out! >=D
