Works fine on RTX2070 Driver 527.56, Win10 64-bit 21H2, Starfleet.exe patched GOG version (V1.03), have it set to 1080p (1920x1080) and all graphics seem to be working fine, phasers are visible, no model or texture problems.

Pardon the stupid question, but WHERE is the settings.xml supposed to be?

After installed VUI+, the only settings.xml I can find is in

X:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 3 goty\Data\Menus\prefabs\VUI+\settings.xml

But the globals.xml refers to

include src="VUI+\\settings.xml"

Not "\prefabs\VUI+\settings.xml"

Is there supposed to be a second copy of settings.xml?

Uninstalled DarNified, reinstalled VUI+, reinstalled UIO via NMM. No change in error. ARGH.

Tried to Uninstall UIO, reinstall VUI+, then install UIO did not work either. Error STILL present.

Do I need to uninstall DarNified UI first or something?

Sorry to be pedantic, but by "uninstall uio and reinstall it", you mean

1) Exit FO3
2) Go to FO3 folder, then data/fose/plugins
3) Move ui_organizer.dll to a different location
4) Run FO3, then exit it
5) Move ui_organizer.dll back into data/fose/plugins
6) Run FO3

Or perhaps do you mean go into NMM (or favorite Mod Manager of your choice), and uninstall then reinstall UIO?

NEITHER had worked for me. *sigh* and there is no instruction on how to uninstall UIO manually either.

(This is more of a side rant, as there's a fragmentation of mod managers. NMM has bugs handling large FOMODs. "Mod Organizer" is recommended by STEP project, and clearly FOMM is preferred here. But for someone who started with one, it's kinda difficult to transition to another without a full restart and vanilla setup. )

Got it to work... on the primary monitor. :)

I have a laptop, one's the native display (1600x900) and I have a monitor hooked up and it does 1680x1050.

I tried declare 1680x1050 and GC just crashed going "huh? What res is that?" (well, not the exact error, but basically DXRes failed or something like that)

Then I realized it probably used primary so I patched again with 1600x900 and it worked.

So this brings up the question... is there a way to force the EXE to come up on the 2nd monitor? (20 inch vs. 17 of the laptop) Do I like pick the 2nd video card from the res change dialog? Does that have ANY effect? :)
