Hey guys,

I've been working on another project which I just finished. I starting working on Coda again in my spare time. Hopefully I'll be able to get a new version out in the near future. You can checkout my other project at Flashbikearena.com . If you have an iphone, you can purchase it on the app store so I can make a little money :) . Send me any suggestions you have for Coda and I'll see if I can put them in if I have time.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, I really enjoy those older tron clones too. I'm a huge fan of light cycle games.

Yeah, just a good old straight up tron cycle game. The main differences are that you gain speed by getting closer to other bike's walls so you can try and cut them off. Also, a rigid body orb pops out after you destroy another bike and you can collect them to get points and multipliers.

If you want to give it a go, it should be out on the app store on 9/20. I basically programmed the entire thing in my basement so if you want to see any new features, let me know and I'll put them in the next update :) .

Cool, I remember seeing this neat little project on the udk forums. Thanks for releasing the source.

This sounds like a permission issue. What directory did you install the game into? Unfortunately epic's Beta UDK requires write permissions on the directory in which you installed the game. Hopefullly Epic will be fix this in a future release or we can find a workaround. For now you can try and make sure you have write permissions for the game installation directory. Let me know if it works and sorry for the inconvenience.

Just a quick update-Looks like the udk is getting scaleform :) which is pretty exciting. I think I'll dedicate more dev time to other things for the next release and then do a complete UI overhaul when the scaleform update gets released.

I really enjoy the look of the futuristic worlds in both Brazil and Blade Runner. Don't see many games on here listing them as inspiration. Looking forward to future updates.

Sorry you didn't dig the game :) . We're still tweaking the controls and sword fighting and we always welcome feedback about how we can improve things. Our Moddb.com forums are open and we always enjoy discussing ways to make the game better. Thanks for the feedback.

If you want you can send your log file to bugs@codamod.com . You can find it by navigating to your UTGame/Logs folder in your coda installation directory. Then grab the file called Launch.log. I'll take a look at it and try to see what the problem is.

A few people have been having problems with the UDK itself. It usually involves some ATI graphics cards. If you want, you can grab a stock UDK at Udk.com (about 550MB) and try out the stock demo game that comes with it. If that crashes then the problem is most likely the UDK and hopefully the problem will be fixed in the next UDK release.

If the stock game runs fine then it's most likely Coda and hopefully your log file will help me find a solution so we can get you playing coda.

At the moment you can't rebind the keys through the ingame menu. I'll put up a page up on the wiki that tells you how to rebind in the config files. I'll put a more complete settings menu in the next version.

Denrei and I really like Desura and we released the UT3 mod on it. I'm not sure if the Coda Betas will be released on it but we will definitely try to get the final product on there so people can get some good one click install/patch goodness... I'm a bit lazy myself :P

Thanks, We are hard at work implementing the suggestions from people for this beta release and we should have another release coming out in a little bit. We've already got some great feedback ingame and we would love to hear more. I just switched our forums over to moddb so everyone can post suggestion, comments, and criticisms(Not the kind that makes me cry) and we'll take them into consideration for the next release.

I actually love making the PS3 version but not too many people seem to play it. If enough people want it I'll backport the current UDK to the PS3. It will probably kill me but I'll do it.

Yeah we are still tweaking the sword combat so any input on it is welcome. The sword combat is much more precise in this version as opposed to the last UT3 version so it's a bit harder. If people find it too difficult we'll tweak it a bit.

Try running the UE3Redist.exe located at \Binaries\Windows\UE3Redist.exe in your Coda installation directory. It should make sure you have all the UE3 prerequisites installed on your system. If you still get a crash upon startup let me know and I'll take a look at your log files. Thanks for the report.

Yeah the emphasis is on multiplayer. There is an instant action mode where you can fight bots but there is no single player campaign for the moment. Perhaps if enough people are interested in a single player campaign we might decide to take on the task :)

Due to the high cost of server rentals, we just shutdown our European server. If you know of any companies that are willing to sponsor a Coda server in Europe, let me know and I'll get into contact with them. Hopefully we can get a new server going for European players.
