I am 20 years old, and live in the sunny Greece, studying game programming.
Well, at first I didn't know such a community as MODDB exist, and I am fascinated with the subject. But lets start from the beginning.
I used to play games just to finish them and see the last cinematic. Later on, I was bored the easy level and begun the normal, and after some time it became a hobby to fulfill the game in the expert or the so called hard level.
Now I have grown older and have a job. This is quite disgusting since I don't have time to waste on games. However I keep playing only the normal level and finishing it, and the time has come when I upgraded my PC. I acquired an ATI HD2900XT and there was Valves' Black Box inside, offering me a Half Life 2 Episode and some other source games. The time came when I bought all the other Half Life 2 episodes, and then I met Source SDK. Suddenly I began to know that mods exist!
And after some time I found that even a database of these lovely mods occur. Yay!!!
Now I visit MODDB once a day, have some mods that I am watching, and trying to learn the Hammer, hoping that one day I can build my own maps,.... and see my name in the credits list.
Cheers, to all that have spended some time to read this, and good luck with your games, playing or developing them.
