I'm a nerd. 'Nuff said.
Kamikaze raised an eyebrow, waiting for Jester's response. Suddenly, one of his men alerted him.
"Sir, a narrow-beam transmission is being broadcasted directly to the ship!"
Kamikaze smirked. So this was Jester's plan. A communication channel opened up.
"Laughable, Jester. Attempting to shut down the Votum, are you? Truly, did you believe such a tactic would work? This beauty was created by Aaron Karax and placed under my direct command, not yours. I don't even know how you got any form of sabotage aboard this ship, as you have never even been near it. All of this time, the Votum has been under MY control, not yours."
"My request still stands, my esteemed former Commander of All Forces."
OOC: Seriously, how does that even work? You have never been anywhere near the Votum and you have never had any say in its construction. And even if you did, even if you did place fail-safes aboard, did you truly expect me to go into battle without making sure the ship was clean of any sabotage, considering I was going to betray you? I was one of the first to use a similar tactic. As I said to Mace a good while ago, I am an assassin, and I know how they think.
The fleet stops firing as per Cronus's orders. A few transports launch towards Jester's fleet, and a message is sent.
"I care nothing for the crews. All I want are the ranking officers save Jester, who seems to be taken care of."
OOC: The request is for all of Jester's major NPC characters.
OOC: Guess Jester's got no more chances to surrender...
IC: Kamikaze turns to one of his commanders.
"Give the order to open fire."
The Votum and a dozen of the Imperiouses (they were in the original fleet before it was changed, I'm just going to keep them for this battle) open up on the Infus, the Votum's size advantage and support quickly beginning to overwhelm the Assertor.
Corvettes move in and form a defensive perimeter to keep any enemy fighters away. Pellaeons form up, fifteen targeting their counterparts, four targeting the Liberators, and the rest targeting the Nebulas along with the rest of the Imperiouses.
Bombers advance, covered by fighters, attacking the corvettes. The Vicus-class ships are overwhelmed, as their targeting systems are acting strange (remember who created the ODIN system, Jester?) Knowledgeable about the weak structural points on the corvettes (I also introduced those, remember?) the bombers punch through the corvette line with minimal losses.
The fact that the majority of the Detora battlegroup is facing Corellia's defense fleet allows the attack to be doubly effective, an advantage multiplied as the battlegroup loses their main targeting abilities with the disabling of the ODIN network.
I think the point is to cut it with the annoying escapes. Someone attacks, and when they realize they are getting overwhelmed, they can just leave whenever they please. Rather... irritating.
I don't want to start an argument, but what exactly is so bad about a cannon device? I can understand some sort of superweapon, but this is just a more efficient gravity well generator. Is that what the problem is?
OOC: Read up on the HIMS, Jester. I've read about Praxis using it, but he misunderstood it and so do you.
"the HIMS could only be used to prevent a ship from being pulled out of hyperspace; a ship in realspace would still be unable to engage its hyperdrive within an interdiction field."
From the Wookieepedia article.
As for gravity mines, Ori`verda, also from the Wookieepedia article:
"The gravity mines created mass shadows that pulled the ships into realspace and made them unable to jump again"
So, in summary, Jester is still here.
IC: Kamikaze chuckles on the bridge of the Votum at Jester's futile attempts to leave the battlefield.
"You aren't going anywhere, my old friend. I say again, for the sake of old times. Stand down."
My fleet was changed...
"Gravity mines have been deployed in numbers behind the fleet and guarded by some Corona frigates."
From Cronus's first comment. Gravity mines emulate gravity well generators. You aren't escaping this time, Jester.
OOC: In that case, the move above is the same, just with a different fleet, the 2nd Imperial Attack Force shown here:
Maybe with a few of my own little surprises...
Can I keep anything?
OOC: In the attack against the NSO, commanders were allowed to escape if they could not participate in the battle. I couldn't participate in the battles with the NGR, if I could, I would have escaped, regardless of orders to surrender, probably to Sith territory.
The fleet wasn't part of the NGR, and I basically made the Votum part of my own fleet. I don't think anyone really knew about it aside from NGR commanders and AK, who built the ship, and I never used it in battle.
The Bellators are battlecruisers. Say I have... three of them. They aren't SSDs, not even half the size or firepower.
The Votum was commissioned as the NGR's flagship a long time ago, and I was given personal command of it. It's just never seen any action.
This is all from my personal fleet which has seen maybe two battles. Some was donated to the GA a while ago, and most was donated to the Gray Jedi, but I held my portion of the ships back at the battle over Malachor, so they survived. This is all stuff I've had for a good while, not stuff I just randomly appeared with.
Also, I was the first to use Bellators, Assertors, and most of the other ships in my fleet.
Answer everyone's questions?
OOC: Enough of this act.*
IC: An Assertor exits hyperspace behind the Detora battlegroup. "Votum" is easily visible, inscribed on the side of the massive warship, which looks to be at least five kilometers larger than any others of its kind. Beside it are the recognizable shapes of several Bellators, Intimidator Star Destroyers, Procursator frigates, and other ships, including a good dozen Imperious Star Destroyers, along with a few Venator Mk. IIs and other ships from the NGR Navy, "re-crewed" by personnel completely loyal to me.
"Jester, you're outgunned in this fight, surrender or be destroyed."
*To clarify, I was a sleeper agent in the NGR. Now that they're pretty much gone, I've got no further use. But I've still got their flagship...
This comment has been posted in a private group.
"Understood." I haul Mace to the medical shuttle, depositing him on the ship. I catch the attention of the medic. "Treat what may be fatal and set his broken bones, but don't do anything else. And be sure he's cuffed."
"This is Vindex 1 to gunships, land us some support."
Two gunships descend, each with fifteen men. They deploy after the ships land and depart. Each has modular rifles and lightsabers, my own personal commando unit, separate from the NGR. Elite, each capable of taking on a Jedi Knight, some capable of taking on Jedi Masters and their Sith counterparts.
I move to Jester's position, dragging Mace's unconscious body.
"A little present, Jester. He's alive, by the way. Do with him what you will." I look around, nodding in approval as the ships land. "Let's kill us some Sith."
I grab Mace, lifting him up by the throat.
"Part of me wants to kill you. Thank your stars that part is repressed." Mace screams as the joints in his elbows shatter. "Just to ensure you don't try anything," I mutter before blood-choking him into unconcsiousness (blood-choke: cutting off veins in the neck that supply blood to the brain. Three seconds of deprivation will render unconsciousness).
The smoke bomb is of little effect as I track Mace down via Psychometry.
I tackle him with the Force, jumping and landing in front of him.
"Please, give me a reason to put two more holes in your chest," I growl, drawing my two light-daggers.
I'll say again, does this:
"Lynx hears the screams and heads in the direction of them, he feels a great presence. Almost as strong as Veritum but a little weaker. He calls out to the being saying that he wishes to help.*"
Refer to me or someone else?
OOC: Is that referring to me?
I think someone is bitter... XD
As Mace's gunship descends, something seems wrong. Suddenly, one of the engines explodes, followed by the other. The gunship goes off course and crashes several miles away.
As Mace watches, two yellow lightsaber blades appear through his chest. Before he can react, before he can even register the pain, he is thrown into the air by a shockwave, gripped via the Force, and thrown back down. The lightsabers are wrenched out of him and a storm surrounds him, paralyzing him for several seconds. Several bones are broken from the impact with the ground, and he is severely wounded by the first attack.
I come into sight, keeping my two light-daggers at the ready. "You are not going anywhere, you traitorous bastard."
Wait, I destroyed the monster's lightsaber whip and its legs are crushed...
