Lead on the Elder Kings modification for Crusader Kings 2.
I didn't see you comment until now, so apologies for not responding earlier. If you find a bug and fix it feel free to send the fix to me here on MODDB or on Discord and I'll integrate it into the mod (if it isn't already fixed in the SVN).
Ah by popularity I'm assuming you mean the Github service rather than the Git VCS; SVN's actually got a greater market share in both the opensource and enterprise (commercial) areas. I don't see the point in using someone else's service to host my repository if I already have a server myself, and SVN just happens to be the one I'm most familiar with. No point changing over now 5 years down the line :)
Why go with git or mercurial instead of SVN?
You'll be able to grab it from the steam workshop, no paradox account required.
You could buy CK2 you know instead of pirating it, then you'd be able to access the mod's SVN version. :)
As for job, what?
This is a hobby, I'm not obligated to do anything for you.
You're going to be -really- ****** after the next DLC drops and we migrate to workshop once the size limits on modifications are removed.
I added a link in the description to our discord.
The mod subforum still exists on Paradox. If you can't access it you should post on the main paradox forum and let them know there's an issue.
Our subforums are still there. If you can't access it you should post on the paradox main forum to let them know there's an issue.
DMS included ones that work with later versions of 3ds max (2011 on up through to 2016) with Assault Squad 2.
If it's the exact same unit that's causing the crashing then working, it's probably the issue I mentioned. It might crash the first time then work the next time due to the mesh and/or texture data already being cached and not "released" when the game crashes.
It could be a memory overflow issue; the GEM2 engine is quite obsolete these days and has memory issues when you're rendering too much on screen at once. The issue is exasperated if you don't have much VRAM or system memory but having a hench machine won't necessarily help the situation. Only way to really "fix" it in such an old engine is to reduce the amount of rendering necessary at any one time.
If you list the models on the maps that are crashing in the forum, I might be able to look at reducing the tris in them (I know that quite a few models from other people being used are taken from FPS games with little if any reduction by the exporters; these are generally much higher in tris/polies than strategy games and will lead to issues if too many are on screen at once).
That's problematic; donations via patreon or other services would cause a C&D from Disney and there's more people working on this than one individual, you'd have to figure out who gets what etc.
Best leave modding inside other people's universes as a hobby only.
Never trust an unofficial download source, you never know what they're packaging alongside the mod.
@Anyone posting download links; you don't have permission to redistribute the modification, you aren't a member of the team, you put no effort in working on the modification. If you really want to help the mod see another full release, how about you actually pull your fist out of your own arse and help us with it? Or you know, keep fisting yourself and posting downloads of other peoples unfinished work.
Any chance of a link to the fauna export video tutorial?
Does anyone have an example (like the ones included with the exporter tools) of a plane setup for export to MoWAS/AS2? I remember there used to be one but I can't find it anymore.
Also binoculars, anyone know how to get them working for export? I've tried doing it like a gun but they don't work in game.
While donating sounds like it may be a good idea, it could actually get the mod shutdown by Disney, not to mention distributing any donations across the whole team would be a headache and this isn't after all one man's project ;)
Does anyone know how to extract the packages from Battle of Empires?
Xentax has nothing on what kind of encryption it uses nor any tool, hoping someone here knows.
Don't forget to add myself and Elder Kings to the credits list ;)
The mod does contain our scripts and a couple of sparse graphical assets by me after all.
1) You should get an event at some point, if your character is "undesirable" (slothful, slob or otherwise an idiot) the event will take a lot longer to pop up (if it ever does). Having a "desirable" character (diligent, gregarious for ex.) will make the event more likely.
This thread contains an archive people can use if they don't have the DLCs, but you'll require a legitimate CK2 key to get to it on Paradox Interactive's official forum; Forum.paradoxplaza.com
1) You need to have someone within 3 generations of your existing character who had a bloodline to be able to claim a bloodline.
2) The hardcoded AI couldn't work within the old HK system we had scripted so we had to remove it so the AI stood a chance of forming HKs more regularly.
I have no idea, I must've tagged it when moving other groups in.
From what people have said, completely deleting the installation, verifying the integrity of your steam game cache and then reinstalling the modification with the self-installer rather than the .zip version fixed their crashing Moddb.com
We don't have anyone who can create 3d Models for them and import to CK2 at the moment, so not really no :/
We've had several people contribute new ones for this release but we're still missing quite a few and always on the look out for artistic individuals who'd love to join our active development team, or who'd just like to contribute a flag here and there is fine too :)
Personal one. Due to the logistical issues with handling multiple different versions based on users DLCs, we've made portraits a required DLC due to the advancing art assets we're creating (custom clothing, overlays etc) that affect DLC assets as well as our own. The total cost of the required DLC is around €3 during sales;
You won't. The SVN link is only accessible via the Paradox forums.
If you have a valid key from a reputable dealer then this article will help, there is a link there to contact the support directly too. If after you've gone through all that it still doesn't work then it isn't any of my business and I can't help you.
There really aren't a lot of mods that do what we do, and those that do are largely aping or directly deriving their systems from Elder Kings (with some exceptions). If you're a member of the ParadoxPlaza you may notice that another large total conversion that does just about as much as we do also isn't releasing a new version for the current patch until Paradox fix the issues and a number of other large TCs also have yet to update to the latest version.
We refuse to release a mod that is half functional, but we're offering access to our development version. If this isn't acceptable, well honestly I don't care. The option is there to play the latest iteration of the mod on the latest patch for those that want to.
As with any volunteer hobby project motivations wax and wane, right now development is in a slump and there are only 1 to 3 people working on it for a few minutes each day. Progress is still being made but at a very slow pace. If you'd like more regular contact with the development team you should head over to the official CK2 forums where we have a subforum. You'll require a legitimate CK2 steam key to register and access the subforums.
