sorry I don't have a better answer. This mod is designed to work with Steam.
Hey... you should be able to download the mod. then unzip the folder into the Sourcemods folder on your c drive.
you should find it in a folder similar to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\sourcemods
Once installed. Shut down steam and restart it and you should then see the mod in the Steam Library...
you will need ep2 but not sdk

you need to place it in your SourceMods folder. This game requires Half Life 2: Episode 2 to run it.

Yeah. I like the idea of mods for it. I guess I have always seen Black Mesa as a complete waste of good talent, bringing us all a game we've already played just in better graphics. System shock 2 is up there with my all time favorite games. I'm just wondering why you are going to give fans the same levels and story. I'd much rather you put your talents to taking the assets you create and creating something new for us all to play. I just feels like a lazy option to re-create it... We all want and need NEW SS2 content...! PLEASE!!

I haven't had these issues report from anyone else of the 1500 people that played so far.
If I hear these points from anyone else I'll take a look at addressing them.
You have to be on steampipe beta for this to work. Convert ep2 by right clicking on the game, select properties, go to betas tab, select steampipe beta and click close. Now run ep2 and the game will convert. Once that's done. Restart steam and voila!
Did you convert episode 2 to Steampipe Beta?
If so then this is very strange.
Try opening the console and typing "map ep2_deepdown_1"
That should get you started...

Hi. No it doesn't bind anything or change the key bindings. Its my fault. The onscreen message should say Alt-Fire rather than right click! Just use the normal alt-fire button however you bind that and it should work ok.

Easy, Medium, Hard - These settings are fine but that's not what I'm talking about.
Map 2 is not FUN for me!
Its not that it's too difficult. It's not fun to play.
A map can be fun and difficult.
The strider attack on White Forest at the end of episode 2 is difficult but its also huge fun! So you want to play it over and over and try to beat it.
Map 2 isn't fun so I don't want to replay it over and over. The player has no idea where they are supposed to go, so you end up running about aimlessly, trying to stay alive long enough to work out what you're supposed to be doing.
You should make it clear what the player has to do. At least with some direction the player will not get frustrated as I did at my repeated, pointless deaths...
Also... the player can't explore when they're being shot at, the player is only interested in staying alive...
Read my blog: it's all about HL2 mapping and has lots of useful lessons I've learned.
Don't mean to sound big headed, I just want to share my knowledge and you clearly can map very well. Its just the gameplay that needs some work in my opinion.

It's really annoying fumbling about in the dark. I quit before I found a way out!
Within the first minute of playing this I died four times.
You give the player no chance to learn and punish them with death.
Put me off right away...
There's some nice ideas in here but you need to add more auto-save points. I died in the room with the checkerboard floor panels that rise up from the darkness and was taken all the way back to the beginning. That's an instant quit from me. The section before that was very dull and I don't want to play through it again.
