Hey DucTTapE, I'm updating it now because I also noticed this problem and have just fixed it on my side. Basically I had to adjust the durations. Also I took out the very fast game over music because it just sounded way too out of place. Everything should be working now!

Nice comment, but I believe there may be a good reason as to Gordon's mute persoa. We're going to get a lot of small questions and small answers in expansion packs until they build up enough momentum to swing the pendulum in the opposite direction and answer a few of the big questions.

Everyone asks "Who is the G-Man"
But, who is The Freeman?

Think about it. Sometimes the best questions arn't the most apparent ones. Perhaps in Half-Life 3 things will be revealed after an even more spectacular campaign that leads to the alien homeworld.

(PS: Never trust a commercial, go with the review sites. :))

While I respect everyone's opinion of the game, particularly those who will cut my throat, tie me up into a body bag, and throw me over the river with even a hint of blasphemy, the game does have flaws.

On my high-end system, most of the load times are rediculously prolonged. For this reason, I actuallyed stopped playing the original campaign because it was such an absolute choir to play. It wasn't enjoyable in the least to wait 3-5 minutes in-between segments of map. After all the technology that was put into the source engine, everything still had to be broken up into sub-levels rather than having a streaming gameplay experience without a hitch. And yes, I've done every single little thing possible to speed up load times outside of buying a dualcore system. So, unless you've had the same problem and found a miracle cure, don't bother replying to that. Although I would certainly love to play this game without a hitch...

Eventually I did force myself to get through the game, but the ending left more unanswered questions than I began with, and made me wonder if VALVe is just leading us on some kind of endless wild goose chase.

Man, some people can be so out of touch with reality to declare something the best game ever.
Once upon a time, people were saying Mario 64 was the best game ever.

Best game out right now? I'd have to go with The Warriors or Resident Evil 4. Best classic game? I enjoyed the classic point-and-click games of old -- mmmm -- poor LucasArts. Now they're stuck making Star Wars games for eternity.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not surprised if people come on here screaming "OH MY GOD, HOW COULD THEY GIVE IT A 9 OUT OF 10 AND NOT AN 11 OUT OF 10?!" After all, this is the main hub for the Half-Life 2 modding community. I'd be amazed if anyone agreed with anything I said by even a tiny bit.

My opinion isn't going to change, this is my last comment on HL2.
I hope Black Mesa: Source turns out nicely.

The people who won't pay for this game are the people who predecided never to pay for it to begin with. It doesn't matter how good a mod is as long as it's free to them, but if Dystopia was taken off steam support (no more demo) and put onto full game statis they would still be unlikely to pay for it, because they need to be hyped up, they need to be sold to EA candy, and they need to have their favorite game review sites say "hey this is fun," because they can't trust themselves.

No one said anything about a possible price, but still, the hard workers on this mod who have performed so professionally are absolutely worthy of putting their product on the market. With some professional marketing this game could definitely join the rest of the source titles with the HL2 package.

The best mod for HL2 yet. Congratulations, you made me proud that I've stuck with HL2 this long. I can't wait for the rest of your mod, and in the mean time, I'm going to enjoy the hell out of the demo.

Okay, screw me? Screw me is the same as **** me. So, **** me? Nice attitude you have.

You need to understand that you're going to be offended on the internet when you stick your neck out and call someone with good credibility and a sensible arguement a liar. Don't bother replying to this, I won't respond.

I forgive you.

methulah is an actual member of the Half-Life mod community, with an interesting profile and a well throught out post. Kenyo is someone who disagrees on the account that his post "sounds like ********." Also Kenyo discredits all of the information (the assorted facts presented), and asks for proof (??).

Let's see here, why would Methulah outright lie to everyone?

...

And why would he need to post a bibliography? =)

Quote
"Yea Half-Life 2 is the best FPS Game, that I have ever played. And about the G-Man. This strange suitcase freak IS Gordon Freeman. Some HL2 Fans took front pictures from both faces and put Gordons over the one from the G-Man. Every bone fits. Even the eyes have the same colour."
End Quote

That .gif transformation effect you saw (I know what you saw) even shows that they are VERY different from one another. The people who bought that need to seriously re-examine the purpose of spreading rumors as facts. Gman isn't Gordon Freeman, and you would KNOW that if you played Half-Life 1, where Gman KILLS Gordon if he doesn't accept his proposal.

Just accept that Gordon isn't playing with himself and move on.

I must declare this the first "really good" single-player modification for Half-Life 2. While Ant Lion Deuce was entertaining, it was full of bugs and serious problems that hurt gameplay, graphics, ect.

Exterminate crashed during its first run. But the second time I loaded it I played both the zombie map and the antlion map. The zombie map was fun, firing a few bullets into a zombie as more and more and more kept coming in slowly. Eventually, 600 kills, many entertaining uses of super weapons, and 10 levels of mayhem later, I was completely overrun by the masses of zombies as I was crushed to death.

The Antlions I think are too hard at the moment when I tried them out, but perhaps I'm not understanding the secret to taking them out yet. I'll get back to you on that.

In the meantime, please, keep up the good work, this modification is fantastic.
