BloodRayne was the creator behind Hexen:Edge of Chaos. He has been working privately on Grimm. Which is a venture into a game that let's go of regular FPS conventions and hack and slash conventions while it dips into platform type gameplay combined with weaponry that is only limited by the skill and timing of the player. Grimm aims to be a hardcore game for experienced players.

I have not been able to implement this into a standalone game without a significant drop in FPS due to Carmack's reverse missing from the engine. It runs, no problem, but it crawls slowly forward in comparison to the speed I get with the commercial build. All due to Creative's insane policies regarding copyright.

If you can find me a programmer that manages to make it run normally then let me know!

We have not heard much from BNA! Other than that eventually a DDOS attack took down the forums and filled the database with spam. In the end it seemed it couldn't be cleaned out or saved as this is now almost a year ago already. So without further ado, get the hell over to Id Tech Forum and create your account, we're still missing a lot of Doom3 modders!

I've been in contact with BNA! and he's told me they're working hard on getting things back on-line. There has been a DDos attack and subsequently the website and all files were taken off-line by the ISP.

Because Doom3World was hosted on the same server that ModWiki was, and ModWiki had just been filled with over 150GB's of spam, it's quite a hard task to weed out the spam files from the original files in the databases, which might have shared tables with modWiki.

Due to this it still might take some time for Doom3World to get back, but it's definitely not 'gone' and will be back!

In the PC age, I started with BUILD for Doom and Duke Nukem 3D and just kept going from there.

I have never heard of this, I think there must be an issue with previously installed mods, or your installation itself. Most likely reinstalling a clean version of doom3, then patching to the latest version (see my previous post in this thread) and then installing a clean version of Grimm will fix it.

I don't see why not, but I don't see the added value there due to most of the particles being different kinds and then you'd want extra features. Such as changing their position etc.. Placing particle emitters is already pretty easy to do in the editor, usually I create 3 or 4 that I will use across the map and then duplicate them and slap them around the map.

Most other particles are already spawned dynamically by the objects that need them. So I don't really have any use for realtime particle adding in the maps.

Right now the script spawns a custom entity called 'grimm_spray' which assumes the players' viewangles and eye-camara position. You can then save this entity to the map.

I was thinking maybe later I might create a real paintball mod, where you'd have different kinds of paint which give different features, e.g. some paint is sticky that slows players down, some paint is slick which makes players glide around the map, some paint is bouncy making players bounce around the map etc..etc...

I've made it a combo move. For now the following combo's are available for the scythe:

Legend:
A1 = Alt Attack
A = Attack

Combolist:
A - Regular attack
Hold A - Power Attack
Hold A & Release right before the powermeter is full - Huge Power Attack
A1 - Alt Attack
A1 Hold A - Timelapse Scythe Attack
A1x5 A - Huge Alt Attack (The most devastating combo)

And there's more combo's coming up! (Which also made it necessary to add a combo-list to the hud).
