Why is it after the dream sequence at Lab X16 my character is stripped of just about everything in the inventory? Weapons gone,suit gone,not even a knife to defend myself.Hell,even my sleeping bag disappeared!

It took several tries,but I finally got it to work. I also had a problem with the cutscene in Lab X16,the two scientists just stopped talking and stood there,had to replay the scene twice before it completed properly.Another problem has been some items mysteriously disappearing from my inventory.

I'm having a problem with the mission at the Lost Factory.As I remember from playing the first version of the game,when you reach the science outpost to talk to DeeDee,you pass out from the effects of the Brain Scorcher,and awake in the outpost.But although I get the dizziness effects,my character remains awake and when I go into the outpost DeeDee stands in the back of his room and doesn't respond to me at all,so there's no way to continue the mission.

Question about installing the Director's Cut. Can I install it to the the present version of the game I have on my system,or do I have to download and install the full game and update that? I should mention that I used an unpacker to make modifications to various game folders possible.

I can't blame the good programmers for jumping ship,GSC existed in name only for a long time. They could hire more good talent to restart STALKER 2,but I think Grigorovich is too greedy and doesn't want to spend the money,even though a new STALKER would make more money than anything else they did. Wish he'd just sell the rights to some company that would do something with it.

Had the same problem,very few stash infos,stashes for which I received info showing on the map but not ingame,or wouldn't open.

I've always wondered why there isn't more of that for STALKER games in general. One of the great things about the Fallout games is the dozens of user mods that add quests and characters to the games. There seems to be very little of that with STALKER.

I agree that the Bar area is needlessly maze like and difficult to enter.I missed obtaining it myself,but I think all the VIP pass does is open a gate that makes getting to the interior of the bar area a little easier. As far as I know getting into the Arena itself is impossible and the actions one could take inside in the original game have been removed in the mod.

I heard so many different versions of why the STALKER 2 development fell apart it's hard to tell what the truth is. I think their desire to make the game cross platform was a big mistake,STALKER is a PC only game,pure and simple. I do agree they've been sitting on a goldmine all these years,the success of Fallout 4 shows gamers are hungry for something more than the tired old run'n' gun shooters the consoles have flooded the market with.

I recall that in Priboi's Story that blowouts would spawn a variety of new mutants in an area. Any chance of incorporating that in the DC?

I enjoyed COP,but the game felt unfinished to me,there was no real pay off or resolution in the end.We never found out who or what was controlling the Monolith,maybe they intended to continue the story line in STALKER 2,but sadly I doubt that game will ever be made.

Just out of curiosity,is there any way,either thru the console or making alterations in gamedata,that I can activate all the stashes? There's an apparent bug in my game that prevents me from getting the clues that activate them from searching bodies.

The problem with that,I think,is that the makers of Black Mesa had Valves permission to sell it (and Valve probably gets a piece of the action). They would have to get GSC's permission to sell the mod.

Amen! I dread the day consoles totally take over the gaming scene,you'd never see a game as complex in scale and size as those in STALKER series.And you wouldn't see mods like Lost Alpha.Just an endless progression of short,insipid DLCs with material that should have been included in the original game meant to further fatten the publisher's wallet.

Will the Directors Cut add a bit more material involving the Freedom Faction? They're really almost non-existent in the present game,one outpost in the Outskirts with one mission in Freeplay was all I've found. I kind of favored them in the three original games,Duty seemed too rigid and hardcore to me,not much better than the Military.

I have no problem with modders getting something in return for their hard work,but what Valve and Bethesda tried to pull was criminal,the modders themselves would have gotten a miniscule percentage of the money while they fattened their wallets even more.

How many techs who can do upgrades are in the game? So far the only ones I've found are Fox in Cordan and the Freedom tech in the Outskirts,and they seem very limited in the number of weapon and suit upgrades they offer.

I don't know if it's intentional,but the Secret Trader in Pripyat,who I couldn't find in time during the first playthrough,is always there in Freeplay. And has anyone been there with him during a blowout? Good for a laugh.

Apparently the Generator area isn't set up for Freeplay,went there to see what I missed first time around,took out a couple of small Monolith camps,and got a blowout warning. Not seeing any shelters on the map,I made a beeline for X2. But after clicking to enter the lab,I was instead returned back to the Generator map. No blowout,but the area was cleared of mutants and anomalies and when I got to the graveyard the end sequence began,when it was over I was stuck there with no way to go back to other areas.Had to load an earlier save to get back in the game.

Yeah,they're creepy little buggers,but easy enough to kill. It's the burers without the robes that give me fits. They don't have the same patterns as the robed ones,those will turn and run if you charge them,don't give them a chance to stop and chase them down and you can knife them. But the naked ones will just stand their ground,deflecting any attacks and wasting you with Psi attacks.

Found a strange bug in the X2 level. Really have no idea how to get around there,most of the doors have broken locks,just been running around blindly trying to advance.Something I did opened up the elevator shaft,climbed down to lower level,killed some mutants,downloaded a file from a computer there but I have no idea what it does. Tried to climb back up the shaft - and found I couldn't get through the doorway into the upper level.Every time I tried to exit the shaft,my character was push back into the shaft,floating in midair,this happened continuously for endless tries until I was finally able to float through the doorway.

Experienced my first crash,pretty impressive really considering I'm up to the Pripyat area. I get a crash if I try to give aid to a wounded soldier,apparently the game can't find the needed dialog.

Thanks,don't know how I missed it. The Pripyat tunnels are a pain,why is it that even with a suit with 90% radiation protection and a bunch of anti-rad artifacts I'm still getting fatal radiation doses?

I'm stuck at the beginning of the Pripyat tunnel,right after Guide leaves. The tunnel leads to a high radiation section that leads to a dead end,can't find a way to advance.There's an opening in the wall just before the radiation pocket,but it's too high to reach,don't see a way to get into it.

New problem. After wiping out the Monolith in Radar,I suddenly got 6 stash clues in a row from bodies.The problem - even though the stashes are marked on my map,they don't show up ingame,no way to open them.Yet unmarked stashes will open,though empty.Strange bug,hope there's a solution.

Anyone know of a mod or changes that can be made in the gamedata folder that will activate stashes? I'm up to the mission at Radar,and have only received 3 clues activating stashes from searching bodies,all near the start of the game. I've discovered numerous stashes hidden throughout the game,but they're empty without the info from bodies,obviously something is broken in my game.Kind of spoils the exploration aspect of the game when you come up empty for your efforts.
