Thanks for the feedback and corrections Codamission, yes a lot of the religion and cultural groups are due for a rework. A large amount of the initial categorization and such of each was done way earlier on in the mod's development and I haven't revamped/corrected them as of yet. A lot of this has been to due to very little free time and the upcoming release of CKIII which has seen me try to stabilize a final preview build for Pharaohs & Consuls which I should be releasing shortly. Unfortunately the corrections and proper changes will likely occur once I move the project over to CKIII as I will then be starting with a much greater amount of practical experience on the project and far more knowledge on the topic area. It'd be great to hear more from you on the discord, especially in regards to historical feedback or discussion...I'll make the corrections as soon as I'm able but they will likely be in my CKIII version of the project (Here's hoping that it's great like CKII)

That's bizarre, have you run other mods before without issue? total conversion mods or smaller ones? Do you have the listed DLC requirements for the mod and are running the latest version of CKII?

The mod is too large for Steam workshop and also is in development so it's not on the workshop.

Thanks Ghekz, I'm on the same page with tribals being far too powerful at the moment and as far as I can tell it's because of that succession issue you mentioned, definitely trying to resolve it and still find a place for eldership succession to be a thing. I haven't figured out how exactly to handle the etruscan to hellenic-italic religion conversion yet and the ingame religion is basically a placeholder for that in the later bookmarks, I think I will keep them separate though and simply change via events or a bookmark...I don't see the reform option as being appropriate or else we'd see Greece and Anatolian become italic-hellenic etc (although this would be possible under roman rule later of course!) I have a few "reformable" religions in so far, but it is something I want to add in later once more of the "Base" religions are more fleshed out etc, so it will still be a thing definitely. Thanks Arduus, Well in regards to the city view I can't change too much at this point, and to be fair I've always had a 1080p view so I'm not sure if that might be an issue if you have a lower res or a widescreen. I actually am trying to see if I can use the font (interface) from Theatrum Orbis at the moment as it's much clearer than the stock CKII font, but I like the map having a more "modern" and vibrant look than the basic washed out appearence in base CKII, the Theatrum Orbis could be integrated later on as a sub-mod since alot of it simply changes how the map is portrayed etc and it shouldn't be too difficult.

Thanks for the feedback! I agree, I haven't really changed too many (or in a uniform way) the landed titles map visual colours etc which in vanilla CKII are all divided into a overall colour scheme...so I'm not too sure yet how I'll differentiate them in the mod, and Greece has so many "smaller" city-states which can be hard to tell apart but I figured it was very important for the first 400 years or so of the timeline to actually have a large number of smaller greek city-states etc

I have been too busy to put out any updates recently, I have updated the mod with the Jade Dragon DLC and have been adding more content (I'm actually close to a public release build, but there is a huge patch/DLC incoming so I am worried about all of the map overhauls and portrait changes I'll have to update and then incorporate again, new content/DLCs are very exciting for me, but also often mean I have to rework entire portions of the mod...every update, tiring but I am getting there.

Hmm make that a few days, just running some basic playtests right now and things are really out of balance at the moment. I am planning on releasing a playable build soon, trying to polish up the 1st bookmark and complete work on the following bookmark so the first 100 years or so is mostly done ("mostly" as in most titles and characters are accurate as far as possible etc)

I am glad to say things are moving along, I finally seemed to stabize the mod with the patches and Jade Dragon...it's been a massive headache requiring a ton of small edits to many fikes...more to come on that in the next fews days... I will be sharing alot more in the next 24 hours, so stay tuned ;)

Thanks Arduus, I agree and it's not only your playthrough, this has been a consistant occurance for me so far in almost every playtest..massive gaulish or hispanic, illyrian, or dacian tribal kingdoms arise with usually 1 duke/king who manages to hold a dozen or so provinces.. still working to see what I can do to balance it; in regards to the greek polis' and the roman republic I am still working on a few ideas to make them challenging yet still enjoyable. Thanks for the feedback mate

Thanks Enriador, I have considered it, but frankly then Alexander would be dissappointed as would those who'd like to play as him and perhaps push farther than the Hyphasis River :) there is actually quite abit of pseudo history for the time of 653BC onwards in India and also it becomes important later on during the Rise of Persia and Alexanders Wars. I also am very weak at map modding which is a factor :)

Oh wow, I am impressed it's running without those DLCs, basically my version has those DLCs enabled so I assume it wouldn't run stably without them, but if it does then that's great lol :)

and @ Guest I couldn't tell you where to begin because it really depends on what DLC you have/don't have etc most likely :/

For those having issues, is your CKII up to date with the latest DLCs and patches? are you missing portrait packs or Major DLC? The CKII Launcher checksum should be WHCB and with the mod enabled in-game it should be QZTE. Let me know if this is the case for you?

I am sorry to hear that, as time goes on I may support having less DLCs but to be honest I am basing my mod on the most recent build of CKII (which does cause alot of headache as it's always being updated lol) so as you know there is alot of gameplay features etc that are based off of the DLC and I can't say that I know how to support older builds of the game without those features.

Quick Update: Just working on final stabilization for the public 0.1B release build right now and hoping to have it out in a few hours. Unfortunately, unless something changes by this evening, Societies will mostly be missing as I have disabled the vanilla medieval ones and all my attempts at custom societies (such as the Companions of Marduk ;) have failed to have any characters join them aside from the "grandmaster" or founder and seem to cause ctds, I am not giving up on societies as I think they are an excellent addition to the game, but I am not ready to release my prototype work on them until it's ready to be integrated stably into the main build. In addition, Casus Belli's are not final and have been getting alot of work lately and I want to stress that they will change in the next few builds as I'm not happy with them currently. (Mostly vanilla with a few minor tweak so far)
