slowly geeting towards a basic release, only 2 teams atm due to the limits on the code template i'm using, ( i can't code) we'll see how it goes

ok guys i'll try to keep you updated, i'll sse if i can get it to post a pic of the new content, don't expect much as i'm no pro, as to pushing on social media you have to be carefull as GW or some other firm could get us closed down on IP rights

ok for those still following UT40k, i've moved the game to a different code base but still built on UE4, progress is still slow and painful due to the lack of a coder but with the different base i'm getting a bit of help as seen on this video

still loads of work to get it to a half playable stage but with the progress now hopefully it will be worth it

ok its been a long time but i have been trying off and on to get this thing working, atm i have a small character selection screen working and i hope to expand this, the only problem atm is that the packaged game won't start if Steam is running. so i might wait a little to see if this can be fixed other wise i'll just upload it at the end of the month

been along time and things are not really getting any where, but Thanks to Dedrick on the UE4 forums i now have a working JumpPack via blueprints so this shouldn't get messed up when Epic change the code again :)

progress hasen't been much on the modelling side either but i'm hopeing to pick that up a little over the next month, and yes i'm still trying to find a way of doing an invasion gametype but it isn't easy.

btw if you haven't noticed UE4 is now free for everybody so if you want to help then dig in and get started

i have a small range of model that was donated from another modder, i can't remember how many i got into the UT2004 version, atm i'm planning to redo what i can starting with some of the smaller Nids, this actually means first that i need to buy the actual GW models as i can't work from just pictures, as you know they're not cheap so it will be slow going as there are other Factions that i want to buy. That said i also have a small Ork collection that once i sort my workflow i'll start on them as well

i tried and failed for the ut3/udk versions, but i do hope to get some in the UE4 version but atm i'm a one man team with little time, that said on the speech from Epic yesterday Tim said we can package our games to be mod-able so maybe i'll find more help in the near future

glad to hear it, not much happening atm, still no further with the code, might have to go back to being an UT mod when they get the new UT a bit better and if they ever get vehicles in

ok again it's been a while, i've been having all sort of problem, last month i couldn't even get the game to package, hopefully we have a fix for this, atm i'm moving the project to UE4.4.0 which has UMG this might give us a nicer interface to work with for menus and such.

i've now got 2 week off work (holidays) in which i hope to get the first test build out for you, please don't expect to much as i still can't code

ok been a while but i have made some progress, most of the characters are now in and to scale, weapon meshs are in with basic textures, working on the first person arms which is causing me a few headaches, atm the code base i'm using doesn't support multiple bots eg i can only set 1 class which isn't much fun, also i've made no progress on the menu/hud/in-game selection so i might wait out a little longer till i get some help on the code side but i'll try to keep moving and keep you updated

ok for those of you who haven't noticed, Unreal Engine 4 has gone public which now means i'll be able to release builds, the main problem atm is that there have been lots of changes behind the scenes since the beta i had access to so please give me a little while and hopefully we'll have some form of release i a week or 2

sure, learn as much as you can and practice all parts.

for coding look for C++ , don't worry to much about UDK as i'm already porting to UE4 which is a big jump for anybody

obj or fbx,
Main Characters 12k triangles
Normal Characters 9K triangles
Character LOD's 9k, 5k, 3k
Textures 4k when posible if not 2k
Diffuse, Normal, Specular
Characters Textures split into 2 textures main body + head/accessories

the main thing needed atm are Eldar Character meshes plus their weapons, to be honest coding the game is a big problem which i personally can't resolve i have to rely on code borrowed or give be others.
atm i'm sticking with the UDK system but will be porting to a future engine when it become available to the public. this evolves making sure any new content will be compatible for future usage, basically triangle count and texture sizes

that sort of thing is part of the basic modelling workflow nowadays, the guy that has done the 2 aircraft has already made some very nice textures, most of the other content is done.
I try to avoid the Forge World content they look nice but some how don't really fit in the history of W40k, plus quite often Citadel then release the same thing but with a better design, check the SM Razorback
