I hope you like getting locked in rooms with continually spawning enemies, because this WAD is filled with that kind of lazy design pablum.
Repeatedly getting locked into rooms with spawned enemies is enough to kill whatever enjoyment this has to offer.
You could try to carefully design challenging encounters, or you could do what this game does: just say "**** it" and spawn a bunch of Arch Viles.
Double barrel shotgun has yet to be surpassed.
This is one of the best traditional DOOM WADs.
One of the worst final boss fights you'll find in a DOOM WAD (it drags on forever), but is otherwise phenomenal.
It takes some missteps (e.g. the end boss fight is an even worse take of the Icon of Sin), but it's still a good bet if you want some fairly standard classic DOOM.
It's stressful and awesome and fun.
I wish the ending were a bit more fleshed out -- there's an obvious potential player decision at the end that isn't acknowledged at all -- but it's a quality experience overall.
The mod is a one trick pony -- suddenly spawn a bunch of baddies in a room you get locked into -- and that trick sucks.
The map design is usually pretty good, but the incessant spawning and gotcha! moments are amateurish. A handful would have been bad enough; to build an entire mod around that approach is inexplicable.
