Had a similar problem, try to turn bloom off *completely*. If problem persists, try lowering all kinds of graphical settings (through options and/or config files), and don't forget to execute vid_restart/restarting the game.
Seems like some of the visual effects are bugged (when running on Steam release, at least). My bet is on bloom, since shutting it down worked for me.

Most likely due to newer version of base Doom 3, need to use included DLL or Moddb.com for compatibility.

Basically, I tweeted my amusement about the fact that "remaster craze" gave us things like Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy on PC, — which I recently recognized as THE game I saw once more than a decade ago at a semi-legal console club in a small Ukrainian town, failed to take note of and than searched for for quite some time, to no avail - with a modding set that is used to add the cut content back. Just an unexpected small personal closure or smth, I guess.
