As much of a letdown as the BFG edition was, this mod really helps it work. The animations, particles and textures that have been created and included from other mods (Redux textures and Phrozo's particles) help this game tremendously. The new weapon sounds are great as well. My only complaint is that some of the "old but improved" textures can look weird. It seems that sometimes too much sharpening/saturation have been included. It is occasional, though. Good work overall.
Great visuals, original soundtrack, neat AU story. The missions, however, can get hard even on "easy".
This is a fantastic unoffical patch. The balance changes are welcome and are well thought out. I also like how the team actually took the time to fix numerous bugs in the game and, most importantly, the campaign! For me, this is the definitive way to play "vanilla" Rise of the Witch King.
Now you can play the original campaigns in 1080p. Fully functional, cutscenes and Gabriel's war journals included.
After several years of development, Deus Ex Revision is finally released. It was a long time of waiting. After playing the mod for over an hour I must say that I am extremely impressed with the amount of work that went to remaking the original levels. The amount of detail is insane but it manages to stay true to the games design. It is a joy to look at. I have a powerful PC (an i7 skylake and a GTX 970) so the performance is flawless so far (constant, solid 60s). The saoundtrack is great and a pleasure to listen to. You can definitely hear the old tunes in there, so it produces the right amount of nostalgia. Since this mod comes with New Vision and HDTP, the game is perfectly preferved for future generations. The only problem is the choice of making this as a STEAM DLC to the STEAM version of Deus Ex. This takes the point from perfection, since it IS a **** move, especially since it hasn't been said prior to release. Whose idea it was does not matter, since many people are sour over it regardless of who is to blame. I, however, won't spam 1 just out of spite.
An overlooked gem among horror games, that is faithful to the works of H. P. Lovecraft. It has a few bugs (including one that is gamebreaking) but they can be fixed with the unofficial patch. I would wholeheartedly recommend everyone to play this game. It puts emphasis on atmosphere instead of stupid jumpscares like many modern horror games do and even manages to include FPS mechanics without breaking the atmospere.
The sheer amount of work that was put into this patch is stunning. This is a perfected AoE1!
This is a censorship mod. I despise censorship of any kind (and of any medium - books, films, games,...), because firstly I find it insulting towards the creators of the censored product and secondly I consider mods to be something that adds/enriches the game in question (yes, even the porn mods for games like Skyrim, although I don't intend to ever use them). This "mod" just takes stuff out and gives nothing in return. Combine it with the fact that this "mod" censors vulgarities in a game that has gratuitous amounts of gore, blood, decapitations and other forms of body evisceration methods, shown in great detail, yet that remains untouched. Therefore I consider the author of this mod a giant hypocrite because his jimmies are rustled by swearing ("I left that in high school") but obliterating a zombified pregnant girl with a chainsaw? No problem there! I will not compromise here in any way, shape or form and I give this 1/10.
All the units look really good and realistic (at least for European civs). Definitely the work of a professional.
